“Madhu” (1959) is a rare movie which was produced by Maya Art Pictures. It was directed by G Mukherji and S Bannerji. The star cast of the movie consisted of names like Karan Dewan, Meena Kumari, Jagdish Sethi, Kumkum, Sundar etc.
This song is a duet song sung by Lata and Rafi. Naqsh Llayalpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Roshan.
Only the audio of this song is available but that does not stop me from guessing that this song is picturised on Meena Kumari and Karan Dewan. In fact I also guess that Meena Kumari wears a sari and Karan Dewan wears kurta pajama in the picturisation of this song. 🙂
Of course I may be totally wrong in my assumptions. 🙂 Knowledgeable readers are requested to throw more light on the picturisation of this song.

I love this song! I have been looking for it on Youtube, so that I could send you the link as a part of my farmaish, but didn’t find it. It belongs to that cherished period of mine, when I was absolutely crazy over these songs and I love the happiness that comes through in this song. Yes, Meena Kumari was probably wearing a salwar kameez in this scene, she was still slim at that time.
