‘Hum hain raahi pyaar ke’ – the phrase reminds me of an iconic song “ham hain raah pyaar ke ham se kuchh naa boliye” from the film NAU DO GYAARAH (1957) and the Amir Khan-Juhi Chawala starrer film HUM HAIN RAAHI PYAAR KE (1993). I was not aware of the fact that there was one more film by the same name until I came across an audio clip of a beautiful song from that film.
Further searches revealed that there were 3 more audio clips of the songs of that film. I understand that the film was never released. It is, therefore, not known when this film went on floors. Also, I could not get details about the film in the websites about the star cast and the film genre except from the uploaders of the audio clips about lyricist and music director. I request the knowledgeable readers to share some more details about this film.
All the four songs are beautiful but my favourite is a duet ‘raaz seene mein mohabbat kaa chhupaaye rakhnaa’ sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Talat Mehmood. The credit for this song is given to Jaan Nisar Akhtar and to Khayyam for the music direction. After listening to this song, I found that the musical interlude of this song resembled that of “phir na keeje meri gustaakh nigaahi ka gilaa” from PHIR SUBAH HOGI (1958) to some extent. Incidentally, Khayyam was the music director of this film as well. I also note that both these songs were written in the same meter and can be fitted in to both the tunes. Even the mood of the poetry is the same – the expression of love.
The song is a good poetry and we are lucky to listen to this song even though the film had not seen the light of the day.

Movie had Minoo Mumtaz and Feroze Khan in the cast. It remained incomplete. Songs were by Jan Nisar Akhtar and Raja Mehdi Ali Khan and by Tanvir Naqvi.
