“Ganga Jamuna” (1961) is a movie that I tend to cinfuse with “Ram Aur Shyam”(1967) all the time. Both movies had Dilip Kumar in them, and both movies had the same musical team, and that is the reason for my confusion.
When I think about it, “Ganga Jamuna” (1961) had Vyjyanti Mala whereas “Ram Aur Shyam” (1967) had Waheeda Rehman. “Ganga Jamuna” (1961) had real life brothers viz Dilip Kumar and Nasir Khan acting together, whereas Dilip Kumar had a double role in “Ram Aur Shyam” (1967).
Hopefully I will keep the above differences in mind the next time I come across the discussions of these movies.
I have discussed as many as six songs from “Ganga Jamuna” (1961) in the past. Here is another song from this movie. This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Vyjyanti Mala and Dilip Kumar. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad.

GJ is a Bhojpuri film so more folksy and RS has more Indian music> semi classical; hence the confusion

Atulji.
Actually the name of this movie is GUNGA JUMNA .It is a story of two brothers Gungadas and Jumnadas. This can be confirmed from the original poster.It can be seen on http://www.hindigeetmala.com .Since all your efforts are flawless I feel the name of the movie also should be correct.
I started watching your blog very recently. It has given me very nice moments to have a dip in naustalgia.Thank you very much.

That is an odd sort of confusion, I find the songs of RS and GJ quite different. Majorly because GJ songs are more ‘folksey’. Hard to say which song I like better from this movie, this one, or Dhoondo Dhoondo re sajna, or Do hanso ka joda.
