“Mukhda” (1951) is an obscure movie by now. It was a Shorey Pictures presentation. It was produced and directed by Roop K Shorey. The movie had Satish, Kuldip Kaur, Majnu, Neeta, Siddiqui, Kukku etc in it. I am surprised to note that the name of Meena Shorey, the wife of Roop K Shorey does not figure in the list of actors. The list of actors in the starcast could well be only partial.
I have discussed one song from this movie in the past. Here is another song from this movie. This nice and lesser known song is sung by Sulochana Kadam. Aziz Kashmiri is the lyricist.
Music is composed by Vinod. Vinod incidentally was born on this day (DOB 28 may 1922) ninety years ago. He was an extremely talented and innovative music director who unfortunately died young at the age on 37 (DOD 25 december 1959).
On the occasion of Vinod’s birthday, here is this wonderful song from “Mukhda” (1951). This extremely obscure song seems to have been recorded from a radio broadcast and so the audio quality is not very good, but any composition by Vinod (no matter what the audio quality) is a great composition, and this song is no exception.
Only the audio of this song is available and so it is difficult to guess how and on whom this song was picturised. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this matter.
