Muhabbat ke janaaze par
Posted on: July 23, 2012
“Daaku Ki Ladki” (1954) was a Harish Production movie. It was produced and directed by Harish. The movie had Geeta Bali, Sheikh Mukhtar, Arjun, Mukri, Deepa, Shivraj, Cuckoo, Sankata Prasad etc in it.
Few people are today aware of this movie or its songs. Fortunately the audio of its songs are available and one can see that the songs of this movie are nothing short of forgotten gems.
Here is a song from “Daaku Ki Ladki” 1954). It is sung by Lata. Hemant Kumar is the music director.
This movie had three lyricists namely S H Bihari, Indeewar and Kaif Irfani but I am not aware about the lyricist of this song. I request our knowledgeable readers to tell us about the lyricist of this song.
PS-S H Bihari is the lyricist of this song. I thank Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, our beloved inhouse encyclopedia for this information.
Since only the audio of this song is available so it is difficult to guess about the picturisation. My guess is that the song was picturised on Geeta Bali.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt.
Song-Muhabbat ke janaaze par (Daaku Ki Ladki)(1954) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-S H Bihari, MD-Hemant Kumar
Lyrics(Provided by Khyati Bhatt)
mitaa denge jahaan tera
kisi majboor ke naale
meri barbaad duniya ka
tamaasha dekhne waale
muhabbat ke janaaze par
diya dil ka jalaane de
mujhe apne muqaddar par
zara aansoo bahaane de
muhabbat ke janaaze par
hua hai zulm to maalik se kuchh
fariyaad kar ae dil
asar kitna hai aahon mein
ise bhi aazmaane de
muhabbat ke janaaze par
diya dil ka jalaane de
mohabbat ke janaaze par
bhula de jisko maara hai
ki teri laaj reh jaaye
kahin in aansuon mein hi
teri duniya na beh jaaye
meri aanhon se darr
kyun bekhabar hai aasmaan waale
arre o aasmaan waale
arre o aasmaan waale
arre o aasmaan waale
basaane de nayi duniya
to wo duniya basaane de
muhabbat ke janaaze pe

Atul ji,
The lyricist for this song is S.H.Bihari.
Another interesting point is,the actor ARJUN in this film is the same Hero of Malhar. His real name was Arjun Bakshi and his daughter jyoti bakshi was a small time actress, who died in tragic circumstances.Arjun was later a script writer and then he went to canada and settled there, running a Music Shop.

derubala ji,
Certainly NOT.
C.Arjun and actor Arjun Bakshi are two different persons. This matter has been discussed so many times on various blogs.
For confirmation, you may read the comments by none other than
his (MD Arjun Chandiramani’s) brother in an article on C.Arjun in

Arun, thanks for the link.
Without going through with so many comments in the link, I had always thought that Arjun of Malhar was a different man than music director C. Arjun which, with your efforts in unearthing circumstantial evidence, turned out to be correct.

Kamath ji,
Thanks for recognising and appreciating my efforts to set things right.
I also brought so much evidence to prove the real singer of ‘Dilli se aaya bhai Tingu’ from Ek Thi Ladki, some time back.you may see the relevant comments.
