We in this blog celebrate the anniversaries of Hindi movie personalities by discussing songs associated with them on those days. for this purpose, we naturally rely upon the dates available in public domain.
Most of the time the dates are accurate but that is not always the case. On internet, it is quite easy to perpetuate inaccurate information which gets replicated without verification on the part of the replicators.
When it comes to the birthday of Aruna Irani, to dates are available on internet, viz 18 august and 3 may. Wikipedia, which many people rely upon, believing it to be accurate, puts the date of birth of Aruna Irani as 3 may 1952.
Acoordingly, there was no mention of Aruna Irani’s birthday yesterday. One of the regulars of this blog,viz , Peevesie’s mom states that 18 august is the corrrect date of birth. She in fact sent a birthday greeting to Aruna Irani and Aruna Irani’s secretary confirmed to her that 18 august is the date of birth of Aruna Irani.
So from now onwards I will be wary of the accuracy of information contained in wikipedia. I have noted down the accurate date of birth of Aruna Irani now for future reference.
As a belated birthday wish to Aruna Irani, here is a song picturised on her. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. This song is picturised as a seduction song on Aruna Irani and Rajesh Khanna. The movie is “Prem Nagar” (1974). This movie was a Vijay and Suresh combines production. It was produced by D Rama Naidu and directed by K S Prakash Rao. The movie had Ashok Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Kamini Kaushal, Aruna Irani, Asrani, Meena T, Prem Chopra, Kumud Chuggaani, Ramesh Deo, Sulochana Latkar, Nana Palsikar, Agha, David Abraham, Nazir Hussain, Manmohan, Bindu,Halam, Kanchana, Praveen Paul, Sunder, Vijayalaxmi, V.D.Puranik,

hi Atul
tks 4 relying on the info i gave yesterday. actually my friend (a classmate from when i was in std 12) made her debut in the industry as assistant to Prakash Mehra. then she went on to work with Anand Mahendroo during “Dekh Bhai Dekh” on DD Metro. then later she joined Aruna Irani productions & was assistant cum Secretary to her for a very many number of years. only recently this friend has made a movie which is making rounds of the various film festivals. oh and by the way she is a daughter of R. Bhattacharya who made Suhaag Raat in 1968.
so what i say is what u have said that sometimes Wikipedia cannot b believed. i think this was also proved when we discussed something in detail abt Waheeda Rehaman some time back

Think Aruna Irani and ‘naughty’ song and what springs to my mind is
“Na na na na na na meri beri ke ber mat thodo…”. Sung by Asha Bhosale with the right mix of sauciness and innocence, this is one of the little known songs from ‘Anokhi Raat’!
