“Pasand Apni Apni” (1985) was produced and directed by Basu Chatterji. The movie had Ashok Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Utpal Dutt, Rati Agnihotri, Subbiraj, Mithilesh Chaturvedi, Javed Khan, A K Hangal etc in it.
This movie, despite being a recent movie by the standards of this blog ended up becoming a forgotten movie which is not surprising seeing the starcast of the movie. Even the songs of this movie are quite difficult to locate.
Here is one such difficult to locate song from this movie. It is a comedy song which is picturised as a roadside song. The picturisation shows Utpal Dutt, Javed Khan and a few others (whom I am unable to identify) getting a donation of Rs 1 lakh from Mithun Chakraborty and then singing this song to express their joy.
PS-The bearded person is Subbiraj. I thank Peevesie’s mom for this information.
The song is sung by Shailendra Singh, Shakti Thakur annd chorus. Utpal Dutt lip syncs in Shailendra Singh’s voice but I am unable to identify the bearded character who lip syncs in Shakti Thakur’s voice. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify him as well as other characters in the picturisation.
There were two lyricists in this movie, viz Anjaan and Yogesh. It is not clear to me who wrote this song. I request our knowledgeable readers to tell us about the lyricist too.

This is just for informtion-
First part of Aamir Khan’s ‘Ghajini’ was a straight copy of this film ‘Pasand Apni Apni’! Mithun’s & Rati’s roles were played by Aamir & Asin.
