When one talks of a Hindi movie called “Amar Prem”, one normally means “Amar Prem” (1971) which was a Rajesh Khanna-Sharmila Tagore movie directed by Shakti samanta. But there was another movie with the same title as far back as in 1948 too.
“Amar Prem “(1948) has by now ended up becoming an obscure movie. This movie was a Natraj Production movie. It was directed by N M Kelkar. The movie had Raj Kapoor and Madhubala in lead roles alongwith Alka Rani Nimbalkar, Madhav Kale etc in it.
Here is a rare song from this movie. This song is a duet which is sung by Rajkumari and Rafi. Mohan Mishra is the lyricist. Music is composed by Datta Thaakar.
Only the audio of this song is available and that too an audio which is recorded through radio. As long as a more clear version of this song is not available, this may remain the only source material for this song in internet till then.
My guess is that this song was picturised on the lead pair of Madhubala and Raj Kapoor.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.

It could be Dutta Thakur as Thaakar by default is a Gujarati surname where there is no Dutta as first name. Please correct me
