“Chhoti Behan” (1959) was a Prasad Production movie. It was produced and directed by L V Prasad. The movie had Balraj Sahni, Nanda, Rehman, Shyama, Sudesh Kumar, Trideep Kumar, Mehmood, Hari Shivdasani, Dhumal, Badri Prasad, Shobha Khote, Veena, Radhakrishen etc in it.
This movie, which depicted the tale of a joint family which gets fragmented and the chhoti Behan (Nanda) and Bada bhai (Balraj Sahni) being thrown out of their own home by the other brothers at the instigation of their wives.
This movie has become immortal thanks to its songs, including the iconic song Bhaiyya mere raakhi ke bandhan ko nibhaana. This movie had as many as nine songs in it. Eight of these songs have already been discussed and all of them are very well known songs.
Here is the ninth and final song from “Chhoti Behan” (1959). It is the only song from this movie that is lesser known. In fact it is the only song from this movie which was not available on YT. It appears that the video of this song are not available i wonder why. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this song including its picturisation.
The song is sung by Lata. Shailendra is the lyricist. (or was it Hasrat Jaipuri ?)
Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

never heard this song. I have seen this movie only once in 59…but don’t remember it was in movie.

As usual, very popular when the film was released but vanished into oblivion. Only through this forum I can catch up with MY past!!
