Hari aao Hari aao

Posted on: November 24, 2012

Today (24 november) is Amol Palekar’s 67th birthday. Unlike most other heroes, who played larger than life characters in movies, Amol Palekar played the roles of a man next door who has problems and worries like the rest of us. And that is what helped him get his fan following among movie watchers who were intested in watching simple uncomplicated movies.

Amol Palekar was not just an actor, he has been a movie maker as well. Amol Palekar had produced and directed “Ankahee” (1985). This movie had Amol Palekar, Dipti Nawal, Dr Shreeram Lagoo, Dina Pathak etc in it.

On the occassion of Amol Palekar’s birthday, here is a song from “Ankahee” (1985). This song is sung by Bhimsen Joshi, the renowned classical singer. Music is composed by Jaidev. The lyrics are traditional Krishna Bhajan.

This song won the national award for the best playback song. Moreover, Jaidev also won the national award for the best music director for his music in this movie.

Here is this fantastic song from “Ankahee”(1985).

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Avinash Scrapwala.

gr8 song. is that Anil Chatterjee who is lip syncing the song? also there was one more female actress in the movie, the movie was a love triangle with some kundali related problem thrown in for some confusion

Like

I think he is the same Anil Chatterjee who acted in 1974 Dilip Kumar movie Sagina and 1964 Hemant kumar produced movie Faraar. And in earlier days of Doordarshan he acted in a famous T.V.Serial “Naqaab”(In a role of ageing lonely Movie Superstar)

Atulji posted on song from Faraar lip synced by Anil Chatterjee:

Log peete hain ladkhadaate hain

Another main female actress is Devika Mukherjee.
If my memory serves me right,This movie got a little bit resemblence regarding Janam Kundali aspect to Rajesh Khanna, shabana azmi, vidya Sinha-B.R.Chopra 70`S movie KARM

yes and added to the Janam Kundali thing there is also some kind of mental illness that Deepti naval has which they say will get cured when she delivers a child. god!!!! kitna confusion hai is jeevan main

On the basis of the information available on the domain i can guess that the song is picturised on Shri.Anil Chatterjee, and as mentioned above the other female actress is Devika Mukherjee.

I remember about 12-15 years ago in one of the interviews Amol Palekar in reply to a question about maintaining a low profile inspite of his rising to ‘stardom’ had said that ‘ i was on the bus-stop’ and ‘i am still at the bus-stop’ … !!!
