“Aurat”(1953) was produced by Munshi Ram Verma and directed by Bhagwandas Verma under the banner of Verma Films. The movie had Premnath, Bina Rai, Purnima, Ullhas, Hiralal, Roopmala, Nazirabai, Mirabai, Devkishan, Mirza, S. Pratap, Shanta Patel, Nazir Kashmiri, Rajkishore etc in it.
As many as six songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the seventh song from the movie.
This song is sung by Lata. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Atif M.
Only the audio of this song is available. My guess is that this song is lip synced by Bina Rai in the picturisation. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the picturisation of this song.
Song-Wo aayenge khushi ban kar (Aurat)(1953) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Hasrat Jaipuri, MD-Shankar Jaikishan
Lyrics(Provided by Atif M)
aaj ki raat kabhi khatam na hone aaye
roz hoti hai subah aaj na hone paaye
woh aayenge khushi ban kar
bahaaren
saath laayenge
mere ghar mein muhabbat ke nazaare
muskuraayenge
woh aayenge
maza is intizaari ka
koyi poochhe mere dil se
tamanna jhoom kar kehti
hai hardam dil ki mehfil se
yeh har dam dil ki mehfil se
woh aayenge khushi ban kar
bahaaren
saath laayenge
mere ghar mein muhabbat ke nazaare
muskuraayenge
woh aayenge
mere armaan itraa kar
tadap kar baat kehte hain
wohi mehmaan aate hain
jo mere dil mein rehte hain
jo mere dil mein rehte hain
woh aayenge khushi ban kar
bahaaren
saath laayenge
mere ghar mein muhabbat ke nazaare
muskuraayenge
woh aayenge
sunaayenge unhen
hasrat bhari aankhon se afsaana
jo hum se ho saka to
unko denge dil ka nazraana
unhen hum dil ka nazraana
woh aayenge khushi ban kar
bahaaren
saath laayenge
mere ghar mein muhabbat ke nazaare
muskuraayenge
woh aayenge

Whle I’m not too sure who sang this lovely song, chances are that it was sung by Bina Rai. But let’s not forget Purnima too had a meaty role in this movie. I believe ‘Aurat’ was loosely based on ‘Samson and Delilah’ with Premnath essaying the role done by Victor Mature and Bina Rai doing the role of the seductress Delilah. Not very sure though it’s a fact that Premnath and Bina Rai fell in love in this married and got married.

Menon ji,
Please see the link for more details of the film.
Aurat-1953 WAS based loosely on Paramount’s SAMSON AND DELAILAH-1949,in which Delailah’s role was done by Hedy Lamaar. This film,in turn, was based on the Biblical ‘Book of judges’.
