CH Atma, a voice that is soft and slow, a voice that possesses a very deep baritone, a voice that seems as if a guttural sound is passing through very deep caverns, a gravelly sound coming from somewhere deep inside his being. A voice that is oh so unique in the lineup of singers in the industry.
In his career, CH Atma has rendered a fair number of non-film geets and ghazals, which stand out amongst the best non-film selection. This here is an absolutely enchanting non-film geet in his voice. The lyrics of this song are by Chandrashekhar Pandey, and the music is composed by Khayyaam. The recording is probably from the 60s.
This is an exquisite poem of love. The lover is thinking about the beautiful eyes of his beloved, and weaves in the strings of restlessness along with the stems of budding desires. The melody and the singing will take you into clear starry nights, as a lonely heart calls out to its loved one, with emotions that are both happy and restless. Happy – because it has
found love, and restless – because the loved one is far away. And the heart remembers the two beautiful eyes, and sings out these words.
The melody by Khayyaam Sb is so arresting, and you will want to hear this song, again and again.

Thanks for reminding this gem. My brother had one NFS audio cassette and this was one of his fav. Bachpan mein ye gaana bahut suna hai.

Am not sure but this song reminds me of an NFS by Rafi Saab whose music is scored by Khayyam Saab
