A lovely duet that has so far not made it to this blog. Two songs from the film ‘Ghar Ghar Ki Baat’ (1959) are already posted here. This here is the third song from this film. A wonderful duet of two hearts in love expressing desires to go together to destinations of happiness and love. The singing voices are of Manna Dey and Lata Mangeshkar. A gem of a song that is a wonderful memory from the days of listening to the radio.
‘Ghar Ghar Ki Baat’ is a film produced by Ramniklal Shah under the banner of Shah Pictures, Bombay and is directed by Ravindra Dave. The cast of actors includes Suresh, Minoo Mumtaz, Azra, Mahendra Kumar, Durga Khote, Gulab Bai, Asit Sen, Krishnakant, Indira, Jamaal, Krishna Kumari, Baby Shobha, Nadir, Burhaan, Pal Sharma, Deepak etc.
The seven songs of this film are written by Gulshan Baawra, Mushtar Haideri and Upendra. This particular song is from the pen of Gulshan Baawra. The lilting melody is composed by Kalyanji Veerji Shah. This film is from the time when Kalyanji was starting his career and finding his feet in the industry. In the list if credits, the name of Anand ji is shown as the assistant music director. Interestingly, the name of Laxmikant also appears as an assistant music director in this film.
On screen, the song is performed by Suresh and Minoo Mumtaz. A wonderful memory and a pleasing sound from more than five decades ago, and it sounds as fresh as today morning’s dew. Enjoy.

Again down the village of Malad (W.rly) and on to one of the memory lanes in 60s…I look at the big poster opposite the east side of Malad, that says GHAR GHAR KI KAHANI…I used to cling to the nearby radio set to listen to the songs of this film… thank u dear…
