Zulm duniya ke sahen aur chup rahen ham

Posted on: March 3, 2013

“Alladin and the wonderful lamp” (1952) was a Basant Pictures production. It was directed by Homi Wadia. The movie had Mahipal, Meena Kumari, Vasantrao Pahelwan, B. M. Vyas, Babu Raje, Raja Sandow, Jillo Maa, W. M. Khan, S. N. Tripathi, Azim etc in it.

Three songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is another song from the movie. This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Meena Kumari. Music is composed by S N Tripathi.
PS-The lyricist is Shyam Hindi and informed by Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, our beloved inhouse encyclopeadia.

I am not aware who has written this song. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this matter.

Song-Zulm duniya ke sahen aur chup rahen(Alladin and the wonderful lamp)(1952) Singer- Lata, Lyrics-Shyam Hindi, MD-S N Tripathi

Lyrics

muhabbat ko na bhoolenge
lagaa kar dam
jahaan tak hai
zamaane chal zara
tujhko hi dekhen
tu kahaan tak hai

zulm duniya ke sahen aur chup rahen
zulm duniya ke sahen aur chup rahen
apni qismat mein ye yehi hai
kyaa karen
apni qismat mein ye yehi hai
kyaa karen
hain gham ke maare
zulm duniya ke sahen aur chup rahen
apni qismat mein ye yehi hai
kyaa karen
hain gham ke maare

rok lo aansoo
na behne do inhen
dil mein rehne do inhen
rok lo aansoo
na behne do inhen
dil mein rehne do inhen
kuchh asar jinmein na ho
wo kyun bahen
hain gham ke maare
kuchh asar jinmein na ho
wo kyun bahen
hain gham ke maare

door aankhon se mere dildaar hain
dhadkane bejaar hain
door aankhon se mere dildaar hain
dhadkane bejaar hain
zindagi kya ban gayi hai
kyaa kahen
zindagi kya ban gayi hai
kyaa kahen
hain gham ke maare
zulm duniya ke sahen aur chup rahen
apni qismat mein ye yehi hai
kyaa karen
hain gham ke maare

One of a few numbers composed by Shrinath Tripathi which I like very much/ I am grateful to a friend, now no more, who introduced this number to me.
