“Around The World” (1967) was a P S Pictures production. It was directed by Pachhi. The movie had Raj Kapoor, Rajshree, Ameeta, Mehmood, Pran, Raj Mehra, Achla Sachdev, Vishwa Mehra, Om Prakash, Pachhi etc in it.
Three songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the fourth song from the movie. It is sung by Mukesh and it is picturised as a boat (in reality a ship) song. The picturisation shows Raj Kapoor posin a a waiter in a luxury ship where Rajshree is one of the guests.
Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.
This is the 400th lyrics contribution from Nitin Shah to appear in the blog. I take this opportunity to greet him on behalf of all of us. Here is wishing that he will continue to reach many more such milestones in future.
Song-Dil lagaa kar aap se pachhta rahe hain ham (Around The World)(1967) Singer-Mukesh, Lyrics-Hasrat Jaipuri, MD-Shankar Jaikishan
Lyrics(Provided by Nitin Shah)
dil lagaakar aapse
pachhta rahe hain jaan e man
pyaar karne ki saza ham
paa rahe hain jaan e man
dil lagaakar aapse
pachhta rahe hain jaan e man
pyaar karne ki saza ham
paa rahe hain jaan e man
dil lagaakar aapse
aankh kuchh aisi ladi
naukri karni padi
aankh kuchh aisi ladi
naukri karni padi
aa gaye baaton mein hum
dil mein chhooti phuljhadi
dil mein chhooti phuljhadi
haay ham toh phans gaye
ghabra rahe hain jaan e man
pyaar karne ki saza ham
pa rahe hain jaan e man
dil lagaakar aapse
pachhta rahe hain jaan e man
pyaar karne ki saza ham
paa rahe hain jaan e man
dil lagaakar aapse
dil toh pehle de diya
dil ko apne ro chuke
dil toh pehle de diya
dil ko apne ro chuke
paas jo poonji bachi
haay woh bhi kho chuke
haay woh bhi kho chuke
ham toh apne haal par
sharma rahe hain jaan e man
pyaar karne ki saza ham
pa rahe hain jaan e man
dil lagaakar aapse
pachhta rahe hain jaan e man
pyaar karne ki saza ham
paa rahe hain jaan e man
dil lagaakar aapse

Nitin ji,
Congratulations on your 4th century in lyrics.
You have been giving us some rare and difficult to find songs in the past and we enjoyed them. I know how much efforts you must be taking to search for songs, filter them from the already posted songs, and listen to them several times to get the correct words.
I appreciate all this and hope that you will,in coming days, work on some fixed theme for songs,so that the search will be more pointed and meaningful.
Congrats,once again.

Thanks Avinash, Atifji
Thanks Arunji
Thanks for your accolades and comments. Thanks for appreciating the efforts that has gone into. We have all gone through it. The agony and ecstasy.
To answer to you advice Arunji I am in the process of sending year wise and alpha-wise songs to Atulji. Starting from 1931 I have reached up to 1945. This will help easy retrieval and access. It was bit easy till now. Hereafter there will be more songs year wise. A tough ask.
It has been a roller-coaster trip for me were I am came across some superb songs. Earlier it was very arduous task to listen to oldy goldy songs. I remember in Pune we used to visit with friends one shop near a theatre near Shanwarwada with many cubicles. We have to enter the song in the register. Each cubicle had few chairs where can enjoy and savour the old songs all by yourselves @ Re 1 or 2. Now thanks to Internet and Atulnet if I may coin the phrase it is as easy as walking in the park.

Reg.this song,I have not heard your version but my memory says that
words are like DIL LAGAAKAR AAP SE PACHHTA RAHE HAIN JAANEMAN -and NOT HUM.I believe this is very small thing.but I M a perfectionist so I mention ….I hop you will excuse me.
