“Anjali” (1957) was a Kalakunj Production movie. It was directed by Chetan Anand. The movie had Chetan Anand, Sheila Ramani, Mehmood, Sitara, Nimmi, V. S. Thapa, Sapru, Kumkum, Krishna Dhawan, Kammo, Jagdish Raaj, Misra etc in it.
Today (3 november 2013) is Deepaawali, the festival of lights. On this occasion, here is a song from “Anjali” (1957). This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and she is accompanied by male chorus, female chorus and combined chorus. Nyay Sharma is the lyricist. Music is composed by Jaidev.
Only the audio of this song is available and so it is difficult to say how and on whom this song is picturised. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.

Very appropriate song for the occasion by my most favorite Music Director genius Jaidev.
Today early morning the music world lost legendary Reshma, I have sent a song, her only Hindi film song for presentation to Atul-ji, hoping for insertion to the blog as a tribute to her..

Thanks a lot Atulji for posting this wonderful and one of my most favorite songs. I remember that even as a young lad I was highly impressed by the choir and chorus effect in the song. Thanks again. Pl now post the remaining songs of this movie, Kunj Kunj gunjan bhanvare ka etc.

Thanks Atul ji and Shah Saheb – a perfect ‘debut’ for this film to launch on our blog, in style, and on this ‘occassion’ of ‘deepaawali’ !!!
it was very much awaited. Since this film had great compositions of Jaidev ji, and songs like, ‘kis kis ko deepak pyaare kare’ (and the other one already shared) are classical gems.
