“Sindoor” (1947) was a Filmistan Production movie. It was produced and directed by Kishore Sahu, who also acted in it, in addition to writing the story, dialogues and a song in it.
The details of this by now forgotten movie were given by Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, our beloved in house encyclopaedia in the past. Here is what he had to say about this movie:
SINDOOR(1947), a Filmistan production was produced, directed, acted by Kishore Sahu. Not only this he also wrote the story, dialogues and one song in it. Additionally, he has sung also a song in it !
The Hero was Kishore Sahu. The Heroine was Shamim and the cast consisted of Gulab, Sushil Sahu, Ramesh Gupta, Rajendra, Pratima Devi, Paro, Moni Chatterjee and others.
This film was released on 1-1-1947.
This was a revolutionary movie in those days, as it tackled the issue of re-marriage of widows.
The story revolves round the family of a wellknown cotractor of lucknow Shiv prasad Tiwari. He lives with his mother(dadi ma),second wife(maaji),elder son Beni and younger son Ratan. His daughter is already married and away.
One of their distant relations Mausi lives in Tulsighat with her young widow daughter and her small child.
Shiv prasad brings the widow-Meera(Shameem) and her child to Lucknow, where his elder son Beni (Kishor Sahu) loves and wants to marry her.
The entire film is full of melodramatic scenes with final happy outcome after a long speech by ShivPrasad. As you rightly guessed, Sushil Sahu(real brother of Kishore Sahu) plays the role of the spoiled step brother Ratan’s role in the film.
Khemchand Prakash used several (now) less known singers in this movie, like Sushil Sahu, Paro, Naseem Akhter, S.L.Puri, Kishore Sahu and Moti in 3 songs.
Six songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the seventh song from the movie. This song is one of the more obscure songs from the movie. This song was not available on YT till I decided to discuss this song. This is a rare song which is sung by Paro Devi and S L Puri. Kishore Sahu is the lyricist of this song. Myswar mentions this song as co written by Moti and Kishore Sahu.
Only the audio of this song is available. From the audio, I guess that the song is pictuised as a nautanki song where the female expresses her love for the beloved, but her lover would rather have his drinks than her. The lady threatens to jump into a well and this threat works and the man claims that he was just joking.
This rare folk music like song is a superb song to listen to. Here is a forgotten song that deserves to be known among music lovers. It is a hidden gem conjured out from the magic wand of the renowned music director that Khemchand Prakash was.

kunwen mein gir kar
abhi mar jaaungi ee ee
abhi mar jaaungi
abhi mar jaaungi
arre re re re
tum bhi ho kaisi deewaani
arre re re re
tum bhi ho kaisi deewaani
maine to mazaak kiya

sach more raja
sach mori rani
qasam more raja
qasam tori rani
ke tum bin jiyara na laage (ho o o o)
ke tum bin jiyara na laage (ho o o o)
ke tum bin jiyara na laage
ke tum bin jiyara na laage
