“Lagan”(1941) was directed by Nitin Bose for New Theatres, Calcutta. The movie had K L Saigal, Kanan devi, Jagdeesh Sethi, Nawab, Nemo, G Vaid, Rahmat Bivi, Naresh Bose, D R Das, O premi, Madho Shukla etc in it.
Eight songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the ninth song from this movie. This song is a get together cum piano song, where Kanan Devi, playing K L Saigal’s wife and having strained relations with him has to act like a normal couple in public and is required to sing a song in the gathering while K L Saigal is at the piano.

she was first Kanan dasi, next Kananbala than Kanan Devi…well anything to do with the comparative and superlative degrees? (~~Just out of curiosity~~ 🙂 ..)
