‘Patthar Ke Insaan’ of 1991 is produced and directed by Shomu Mukherjee. The film was dedicated to his father, Padmashri Sashadhar Mukherji. The story written by K Bhagyaraj had a star-cast consisting of Jackie Shroff, Vinod Khanna, Sridevi, Poonam Dhillon, Om Shivpuri, Saeed Jaffrey, Satish Shah, Subiraj, Amita Nangia, Anjana Mumtaz, Mahesh Anand, Moon Moon Sen, Mushtaq Merchant etc.
Bappi Lahiri set this RaagaMaala to the lyrics of Anjaan (real name, Lalji Pandey). Raagas selected for the compositions are, Deepak, Bahaar, Malhaar, Sohini, Darbari Kanhda and Piloo. It is a duet by two sisters, one of them being a singer, portrayed by Poonam Dhillon and the second one being a dancer portrayed by Sridevi. Both try to prove by an open competition, that their art is supreme. Kavita Krishnamurty sings for both the artists.
The song in the film has two parts. The first part being the competition, is a longer one. The second part is a sad version, may be coming near the end of the film, is a very short one.
