On this date ten years ago (14 April 2013), six songs from five different movies were covered in the blog. Here are the details:-

Post No Song Title Name of the movie Remarks
7895 Husn kehta ja raha hai Humaayun (1945) Movie YIPPEED by now

We observe that three movies (out of five) whose songs were covered on this date ten years ago (14 April 2013) have since been YIPPEED in the blog. That leaves us with two movies that are unYIPPEED and therefore eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today (14 April 2023).

The first unYIPPEED movie has already been taken up earlier in the day under BTYC.

The second movie that is eligible for BYTC today is “Yaadgaar”(1984).

“Yaadgaar”(1984) was produced by R C Prakash and directed by Dasari Narayan Rao for Shiv Shakti Films, Madras. The movie had Sanjeev Kumar, Kamal Haasan, Poonam Dhillon, Tanuja, Jamuna(south), Purnima, Sujit Kumar, Dina Pathak, Rajindernath, Bhagwan Dada, Yunus Parvez, Mohan Choti, Rajkishore, Raja Duggal, Shivraj, Dinesh Hingoo, Manmaujee, Master Chaitanya, Raghuveer, Shailesh, Johny-Whisky, Madhu Malhotra, Vijay Arora, Raza Murad, Baby Meena etc in it.

“Yaadgaar”(1984) had six songs in it. One song from the movie is covered in the blog.

Today, exactly ten years later, here is the second song from “Yaadgaar”(1984) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Runa Laila. Indeewar is the lyricist. Music is composed by Bappi Lahiri. The song is picturised on Poonam Dhillon who plays a blind flower seller lady singing this song on public places selling flowers.

Lyrics of the song and other details were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2012-2022) – Song No. 93
————————————————————————————–

Ten years back on this day i.e., 17th September ’2012 the following songs were posted on the blog.

Song Movie title(Year) Remarks
Aji aawo muhabbat ki khaa le qasam Shehanaayi(1947 ) All songs covered
Tu kaun hai mera keh de baalam Deedaar (1951) All songs covered
Ulajh gaya jiya mera nainon ke jaal mein Jaadu(1951 All songs covered
Lagan lagi hai sajan milan ki Naataa (1955) All songs covered
Aaj rota hai kyun Ghar Ka Chiraag(1967) 5 of 6 songs covered
Kahin daag na lag jaaye Mera Naam Joker(1970) All songs covered
Aansuon ko thham le Chhota Baap(1977) 2 of 6 songs covered
Jahaan pe sawera ho basera wahin hai Baseraa(1981) 1 of 6 songs posted
Chanda re chanda re kabhi to zameen par aa Sapnay(1997) 1 songs posted

From the above table we can see that ten years back ‘this day’ was a great day for the blog as a ‘whopping’ nine songs were posted on that day.

From the above nine movies represented on the blog on that day five movies have already been YIPPEED on the blog.

So, we have the following four movies remaining where we can discuss song/s from this movie on the blog today.

– ‘Ghar Ka Chiraag-1967’
– ‘Chhotaa Baap – 1977’
– ‘Baseraa-1981’
– ‘Sapnay-1997’

I am presenting a song from the ‘1981’ movie ‘Baseraa’. One well known song from this movie have already been posted on the blog.

“Basera” was a Rose Movies presentation. It was produced by Ramesh Behl and directed by Ramesh Talwar.
The movie had Shashi Kapoor, Rakhee Gulzar, Rekha, Poonam Dhillon, Ifthekhar, A.K. Hangal, Raj Kiran, Master Vikas, Pardesi, Raj Verama/Chandu, Baby Gazala, Salma, Kirit Vyas, Mrs. H.F. Mistry, Vishwanath, Sudha Chopra, Gulshan/Harjeet, Raj Bharti, Tikka Singh etc in it.

This movie has six songs in it which are all penned by Gulzar.

Gulzar Saab also wrote the screenplay, dialogues, and story of this movie.

Music for this film was composed by R.D. Burman.

Our dear Prakash ji had shared two songs from this movie for the today’s occasion. However, I am presenting a different – lesser heard song from this movie for today’s occasion.

I was not aware of this song till one year back or may be a little more than that. But, during the last one year I had heard it many times on ‘Radio’ (VVB) and since then I have been liking this song very much.

This song is sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle and on screen it is lip synced by Raj Kiran and Poonam Dhillon. Many other artists are also seen in the picturisation of this song on screen.

This is the only Kishore Kumar song in this movie ‘Basera-1981’ and on the blog too we surely are due for a Kishore Kumar song now, as the last Kishore song on the blog was posted on 13.08.2022.

More about this movie ‘Baseraa-1981’ and its songs will be covered in future posts of this movie-songs on the blog 😊

Till then let us now listen to today’s song …

I hope that readers will also enjoy this song.

The blog completes 14 years of its existence today (19 july 2008-19 july 2022).

Blog Day :

5114 Post No. : 17060

Today 19th of July 2022 we celebrate the birthday of this blog. Regulars on the blog are aware that this blog was started on 19th of July 2008. So, today the blog celebrates its’ fifteenth birthday.

Normally on this occasion we enjoy birthday songs, ‘saalgirah’ songs, ‘party’ songs, or sometimes ‘bringing memories back’ songs or songs that are filled with ‘nostalgia’ as I have shared them earlier on the birthday of the blog.

But, today, I am approaching this post differently and I will not repeat what I have earlier said about the blog and my love for this blog and how this blog has become a part of my life since I become associated with it.

So today, instead of playing a song for the blog we will enjoy a song ‘as the blog is singing for us’ 😊

Yes, the blog in its teens now have already achieved a unique position on online platforms and in the coming days its’ achievements are only going to be increase by leaps and bounds and further …

So, the blog is happy about its growth and feels like singing today for all of us, and when this blog sings the whole universe sings 😊obviously …

Just imagine that the ‘shokh kaliyaan’ are the newer posts appearing on the blog daily and songs which are rare, unheard, never known or even known songs but accompanied with information, details, trivia, nostalgia and much more … And when the new posts arrived the ‘heart’ of the readers automatically starts throbbing. The readers are the ‘mast’ ‘flowers’, and when their heart starts throbbing the whole atmosphere becomes jovial and enjoying ..

‘jhoomkar partbaton pe ghataa chhaa rahi hai’ … these are the special occasions like anniversaries of artistes, centuries of the artistes or blog members when we expect the blog to ‘rain’ the ‘posts’ especially from our seniors like Arun ji, Sudhir ji, Atul ji, Sadanand ji, Raha Saab, Shenoy Sir ji, Nahm ji, Nalini ji, Gajendra ji and others. And posts coming under ‘blog ten-year challenge’ with contributions raining from Prakashchandra ji.

By the way Arun ji’s posts coming on the blog itself makes the day a ‘special occasion’ as and when the posts come.

All the posts appearing carry forward the story of ‘love and passion’ for ‘music’ and for the ‘blog’. Every day the blog feels ‘pyaar ki umr shaayad kareeb aa rahi hai’ unaware of how much we all love it …The blog happily continues with its ‘pyaar ki daastaan’ every day.

‘bhool kar raah koyi haseen aa na jaaye’ … These are the new readers coming into the contact of this blog and falling in love with this blog. Even the ‘pardaa nasheen’ have to take care or they will fall in love with this blog.

From its side the blog already alerts you ‘is jagah aaj ek naujawaan’ gaa rahaa hai … (its ‘age’ doesn’t matter 😊 it’s an adolescent growing into youth😊)

‘ye zameen gaa rahi hai
aasmaan gaa rahaa hai
saath mere
ye saara jahaan gaa rahaa hai’

Happy birthday ‘atulsongaday’…!!!

Enjoy today’s melodious composition by Pancham Da with the beautiful verses of Anand Bakshi and rendered lovingly by Amit Kumar.

Today’s song is from the ‘1982’ movie ‘Teri Kasam’.

In the movie Kumar Gaurav lip-syncs the song. Poonam Dhillon and others can also be seen in the picturization of this song …

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2012-2022) – Song No. 60
————————————————————————————–

Welcome all to this post under ‘blog ten year challenge 2012-2022’.

Ten years back on this day i.e. 03rd July’2012, as many as seven songs from seven different movies were covered on the blog.

The details of these songs are as given below:-

Song Title Name of the movie (Year) Remarks
Aise machal ke nain badal ke Do Gunde(1959) Movie Yippeeee’ed by now
Phoolon se dosti hai Duniya Jhukti Hai(1960) 2 of 8 songs posted
Chadhe chanda to tum bhi chale aana Aplam Chaplam(1961) 3 of 7 songs posted
Dhaley din aise Laal Kothi(1978) 1 of 4 songs posted
Kaa jaanoon main sajaniyaa Hum Paanch(1980) 3 of 6 songs posted
Jaan e jaan dhoondhta phir rahaa Jawaani Deewaani(1972) Movie Yippeeee’ed by now
Dil ki baat kahin lab pe na aa jaaye Teri Qasam(1982) 1 of 6 songs posted

From the above table we can see that only two movies out of seven movies represented on the blog on that day have since been ‘Yippeeee’ed on the blog.

This means that five movies are eligible for blog ten year challenge today (3 July 2022).

I am presenting a song from the ‘1982’ movie ‘Teri Qasam’.

Today 3rd July’2022 is also the seventieth birthday of Singer Amit Kumar (born on 3rd July’1952). On this occasion I am presenting a song from ‘Teri Qasam’ which is sung by Amit Kumar.

‘Teri Qasam-1982’ was directed by A.C. Trilokchander for ‘Navjeevan Productions, Bombay’. It was produced by Titu.

It had Kumar Gaurav, Poonam Dhillon, Girish Karnad, Ranjeeta, Nirupa Roy, Monty, Paintal, Jyoti Bakshi, Neelu Arora, Najma, Rakesh Bedi, Mushtaq Merchant, Kanti, Manmouji, Birbal, S.P. Chaturvedi, Dinkar Chaudhary, Meghdoot, Bhola, Shivraj, Babli, Gauri Verma, Raj Bachchan and others.

This movie introduced Shiv Kapoor.

Padmini Kapila, Mukul Agrawal made special appearances in this movie while music director Laxmikant had a guest appearance in this movie.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 25.05.1982.

This movie had six songs thatwere written by Anand Bakshi R.D. Burman was the music director.

Here is the list of songs of “Teri Kasam”(1982):-.

Sr.No. Song Title Singer/s
01 Ham jis raste pe chale us raste pe thhi preet khadi Lata Mangeshkar, Amit Kumar
02 Ye zameen gaa rahi hai aasmaan gaa rahaa hai Amit Kumar
03 Gee two hai haan jee haan, gee two hai Amit Kumar
04 Kya huaa ek baat par barson ka yaraana gaya Amit Kumar
05 Mere geeton mein meri kahaaniyaan hai Amit Kumar
06 Dil ki baat kahin lab pe na aa jaaye Amit Kumar

Only one song from this movie has been posted on the blog and that was ten years ago on 03.07.2012. It means that this movie has completed its ten years run on the blog with only one of its songs posted.

While presenting the first song from this movie on the blog, Atul ji has given his opinion why Kumar Gaurav turned to be a failure after his debutant ‘big-hit’ movie ‘Love Story’.
Though Atul ji has mentioned that the music of this movie was composed by R.D. Burman but ‘he did not enjoy the songs of this movie’ may be because he didn’t like this movie.
But I would like to mention here that I liked all the songs of this movie very much. I had watched this movie, and I have no recollections whether I had liked at that time. But Pancham Da has given a very nice musical score ino this movie. All the songs from this movie are very good. However, only one song from this movie made it to the annual list of ‘Binaca Geetmala’ of that year 1982. This song ‘ye zameen gaa rahi hai’ stood at 22nd position.

We will be enjoying the others songs from this movie in the future.

Today we are going to listen to the second song from this movie.

This song sung by Amit Kumar is a nice song from this movie which is lip synced by Kumar Gaurav. From the picturisation of this song the song seems to be a stage show song wherein we can also see Poonam Dhillon and many other artists seated among the audience.

Let us now listen to today’s song which seems to happen after the two lovers (Kumar Gaurav and Poonam Dhillon) get estranged over some misunderstanding 🙂

Wishing Amit Kumar a very happy birthday today and a healthy and peaceful life ahead …

Blog Day :

5083 Post No. : 17007

Today’s song is from the movie ‘Kabhi Ajnabi Thhe’ (1984).

One song from this movie has been posted on the blog by our Respected Sadanand ji, – “Dil Ki Is Dehleez Tak Jo Mehmaan Ban Ke Aaye“. In his write up Sadanand ji has mentioned Indian cricket and Bollywood both enjoy enormous popularity among Indians”. Yes! Very rightly said by him and this has the case been with most of our country-men and particularly people like me who have grown up in the ‘seventies’. We loved movies and cricket at the same level and they have been an integral part of our ‘life’s journey’.

Today I will add a little to the nostalgia about cricket, a song from a movie where a cricketer was the main lead and memories of the month of June. As I had mentioned earlier ‘June’ has been special month for me for many reasons. It has birth anniversaries and other anniversaries of closed ones and many other important things of my personal journey.

Other than the personal anniversaries we have anniversaries related to cricket 😊, anniversary of my passing out board exam in June 1983 😊, and anniversaries of many movies and memories of many movies released in 1983. We have birth anniversary and remembrance days of many artists etc.

1983 had been a special year for me and particularly the summer of 1983. Every summer brings back many memories of the 1983 summer to me. India won its first Cricket World Cup in June 1983. The movie ‘83’ which was released in December 2021 revived the thrill and nostalgia of the 1983 cricket world cup. I watched this movie twice on its First day (i.e. first Friday) and again on ‘second Friday’ in theater. Recently again I watched this movie on OTT as I was alone at home 😊.

In this article I am not going to discuss the ‘Summer of 1983’ or ‘June of 1983’ anymore. But I will be taking you back to the summer of 1982. Indian cricket team was on tour to England in that summer of 1982.

Yes, I still remember how I jumped out of my bed, when I was listening to the commentary of radio of the second test of India vs England Test match that was played from June 24 to 28 at Manchester during India’s tour of England in 1982. It was 27th of June (since 1994 this day become very special day of my life, and yes, we have Pancham’s birthday on the same day too  😊).

27th June, 1982 was the fourth day of this test and the time in India then must have been around 10 or 10:30 pm (I do not remember it exactly now). I was lying down on bed and listening to the commentary of this match on radio. And I jumped from my bed and sat on my toes in half standing position when the commentator was giving a ball by ball commentary of the over England’s bowler Bob Willis (who was also the captain of England). The batsman on strike was India’s Sandeep Patil. The first ball was hit for a four and then followed four after four…

This was the famous ‘six fours of Sandeep Patil in an over…

Sandeep Patil made his test debut in 1980 and played his last ODI in 1986. He was always in news for his ‘destructive batting’ and ‘other than cricket’ activities. From cricket I always remember his 174 against Australia, then the ‘world cup’, and when he was specially called for a test with Pakistan at Nagpur (Oct’1983) where he landed by a special ‘air-craft’ provided Maharashtra Government.

In between his cricket career he had also done a movie. Today we are going to listen to a song from this movie. Though this movie was not a success it was in news and especially the chemistry between Sandeep Patil and the heroine of the movie Debashree Roy was a talk among our senior friends at that time. I have not watched this movie.

‘Kabhi Ajnabi Thhe’ was directed by Vijay Singh for VS Productions, Bombay. Vijay Singh not only directed this movie, but he was also the producer of this movie and had written dialogues of this movie and had done the editing of this movie too. The star cast of the movie has Poonam Dhillon, Sandeep Patil, Debashree Roy, Ram Sethi, Iftekhar, Ramesh Deo, Seema Deo, Narendra Nath, Birbal, Jugnu, Raj Anand, Chunnu Mehra, Vinay Mandke, Indrajeet Ahluwalia, and others. Sayyad Kirmani, Barrister Sheshrao Wankhede, Prabhu Desai, Vishwas Raut, Ashok Mankad, and Pinki had made a friendly appearance in this movie. Shakti Kapoor had made a guest appearance in this movie.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 25.09.1984.

The movie has seven songs written by two songwriters – Dev Kohli (five songs) and Ravindra Peepat (two songs). Music for this movie was composed by Vijay Singh himself. So, he had donned the ‘hats’ of Producer-Director-Editor-Dialogue writer and Music Director of this movie). Here is the list of songs of this movie.

01 Welcome To The Orkay Nite … Pehli Nazar Mein Pyaar Huaa Dev Kohli Suniti Devi, Vinay Mandke, Aenet, chorus

06 Is Dafaa Ham Na Ghataaon Ki Tarah Chhaayenge Dev Kohli Lata Mangeshkar

HFGK mentions the following names in the singer’s list of this movie i.e. Lata Mangeshkar, Suresh Wadkar, Suniti Devi, Ashok Khare, Vinay Mandke, and Vijay Singh. Today’s song is duet song sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Suresh Wadkar and on screen it is lip synced by Poonam Dhillon and Sandeep Patil.

Lyrics for the today’s songs are by Ravindra Peepat and music is composed by Vijay Singh.

As Sadanandji has mentioned in his post “The only plus point in the movie, if I may say so, is its music”. This movie has nice songs and I like all the songs of this movie except the songs listed at serial no. 1 in the above table which I think I had not listened or I do not remember it. Incidentally the first song from this movie was also posted in the month of June on 18.06.2016 :).

Let us enjoy the today’s song now…

Hello Atuldom

“Awaam” (1987) was produced by B.R. Chopra and Ravi Chopra. It was directed by B.R. Chopra and had dialogues by Dr. Rahi Masoom Reza.
It had Ashok Kumar, Shafi Inamdar, Iftikhar, Om Shivpuri and Shreeram Lagoo playing friends, and past freedom-fighters who are living on benefits that freedom-fighters used to get. Additionally, Shafi Inamdar, Om Shivpuri and Shreeram Lagoo are politicians in post-independence India and Shafi Inamdar’s character is shown to be hand-in-glove with anti-national (Gaddaar) elements and Om Shivpuri being happy reaping benefits of the Gaddaars.

Rajesh Khanna played the son of the straight-forward Iftikhar and is shown to worship Ashok Kumar. Then there are Deepak Parashar and Raj Babbar who are Rajesh Khanna’s friends. Poonam Dhillon & Smita Patil are the female characters who are slightly more than glamour dolls. There is Nana Patekar who plays an Army officer who has engaged Rajesh Khanna (an infantry man) to look into the activities of the corrupt people. Oh, I forgot to mention Maneesha kohli (character actor Dev Kumar’s daughter) played a negative character with some good dance numbers featuring her. Plus Vijay Arora, Chandrashekhar, Saeed Jaffery, Satish Shah, Rita Rani Kaul, Ashalata and Sushma Seth form the supporting cast. (As we can see it was a multi, multi-starrer).

So that is the story of the movie in short. But the movie itself was 2 & 1/2 hours long with a few people being eliminated every time the cover of the Gaddaars is blown. I know also this because my favourite D2H channel is having a festival of BR Chopra films this week- to remember the producer-director on his birth anniversary which is on 22nd April; he would have been 108. They have aired Ittefaq, Agni Pariksha, Karm, Awam and Afsana is scheduled for tomorrow. Some really ‘Hatke’ movies have been selected, and not the oft-repeated Naya Daur, Baghban, The Burning Train etc. And since it is a BR Chopra film festival I am sure that the channel must have been spoilt with a large library to choose from.

I discovered a few interesting tit-bits as I sat to write this post.

1) this was B R Chopra’s final film as director. Then he made Mahabharat the television series.
2) for about 36 years Ashok Kumar and B R Chopra worked together starting with Chopra’s first film Afsana in 1951.
3) Iftikhar was a permanent in Chopra’s films for 30 years and this was the last time they worked together.
4) Rajesh Khanna acted in a BR Chopra film after 10 years in ‘Awam’; Karm was in 1977.
5) from ‘Gumrah’ to ‘Awam’ Ravi gave music for BR Chopra films for 25 years. This was their last together.
6) This was Smita Patil’s last movie. She had completed shooting her scenes and dubbing was left. Rekha dubbed for Smita’s character.

Today’s song is sung by Mahendra Kapoor & Asha Bhonsle and Rajesh Khanna & Poonam lip-sync. Hasan Kamal was the lyricist.

With this post we can also wish the beautiful Poonam on turning 60 a few days back. April 18th was her birthday. It is hard to imagine that she is 60. All the best to her for great times ahead.

Hullo Atuldom

The song in this post is the perfect candidate for the “how come this song was not posted earlier” category. It being the most popular song of the film. There have been three songs posted on the blog, out of eight (I think) that this movie has, and this song is mentioned in at least two of these posts.

Avinash ji, in his post of the song “Jeene Ko To Jeete Hain Sabhi“, wondered how today’s song missed a place in that year’s Top 30 of the famous Binaca Geetmala.

Nahm ji has given the complete story of this movie in her post of the song “Mil Gayeen Aaj Do Lehren“. She has also pointed towards the connection between the song in that post with today’s song.

The movie had made it’s debut on the blog with the song “Maine Tujhe Kabhi Kuchh Kaha Tha“.

I am talking of ‘Ye Vaada Raha’ (1982) which was directed by Kapil Kapoor for Rose Movies, Bombay. It was produced by Ramesh Behl. It had Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim, Poonam Dhillon, Sarika, Rakhi, Rakesh Bedi, Iftekhar, Agha, Sundar, Gulshan Bawra, Hari Shivdasani, and others. Shammi Kapoor made a special appearance in this movie. The film has six (but I think I have counted eight songs because one is a multi-version song) songs penned by Gulshan Bawra and composed to music by Rahul Dev Burman.

Revisiting ‘Ye Vaadaa Rahaa’ today on the occasion of Gulshan Bawra’s birth anniversary. He would have been 85 today. He was associated with many popular songs in his career – songs which were tuned by Kalyanji Anandji, Laxmikant Pyarelal, RD Burman and other music composers of the 70s, 80s and 90s. The last movie for which he penned songs was the Akshay Kumar- Twinkle Khanna starrer ‘Zulmi’ which released in 1999. It had music by Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen; he had also appeared on the screen in this movie.

Today’s song is sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle with Rishi performing a waltz with an imaginary partner and then Poonam joins him. The video that I found on YouTube has all the versions stitched together. So, the second part of the song begins 3 minutes into the video where Tina Munim is reminiscing her days with Rishi Kapoor. I am unable to find videos where the three versions are separate.

On this blog we often celebrate anniversaries of various artists of Hindi Films and Hindi Film Music. Time to time we also celebrate birthdays of our team members who are also known as ‘Atulites’. So today we are celebrating birthday of two Atulites and one well-wisher of this blog (read as ‘family members of the team members 😊).

This post is to wish Atulites Pradeep Raghunathan ji and Peevesie’s Mom ji a very happy birthday today. On behalf of all team members, I wish them a very happy birthday and many happy returns of the day. Also today is the birthday of my wife. So, we wish her too a very happy birthday and many happy returns of the day 😊 (she also has her ‘hand’ behind me – and she also has her share in my being a successful ‘Atulite’ for the last nine years four months… 😊)

As is customary for us, we will now listen to a song which suits today’s occasion perfectly. This is a ‘birthday celebration song’. It is from the ‘1989’ movie ‘Saaya’. I was not aware either of the song or this movie. I came across this song only a couple of days back (when I was looking for a birthday song).

‘Saaya-1989’ was directed by R. Keshu (I guess he is Keshu Ramsay) for ‘Century Films’. It was produced by Naval Kumar and presented by R.C. Kumar.

It had Shatrughan Sinha, Poonam Dhillon, Danny Denzongpa, with Pinchoo Kapoor, Viju Khote, Beena, Baby Tabassum, supported by Iftekhar, Anjali Sen, Shammi, Sudhir Dalvi, Darshan, Prakash and Kaajal Kiran.

Story and screenplay of this movie was written by Kumar Ramsay. Dialogues for this movie were written by Jagdish Kanwal. Shafi Ur Rahman was associate dialogue writer for this movie.

Editing of this movie was done by Bal Korde.

Lyrics for the songs in this movie were written by Anjaan and music was composed by Bappi Lahiri.

Asha Bhonsle, Nazia Hassan, Zoheb, Uttara Kelkar, and Munna were those whose voices was used for the songs in this movie.

Today’s song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Poonam Dhillon lip-syncs the song on screen. Shatrughan Sinha and Baby Tabassum (whose birthday is being celebrated) are also seen alongwith many others.

Let us now enjoy this beautiful song and wish the birthday boys and birthday girls a very happy birthday today and a healthy and peaceful life ahead …

Today’s song is from the movie ‘Naam-1986’.

‘Naam-1986’ may be a recent movie by the standard of this blog, but it made it’s debut on the blog long time back or precisely in the initial months of the blog and that was on 03.11.2008.

Its’ most popular song Chitthi aayi hai aayi hai chitthi aayi hai was posted on the blog on 03.11.2008.

‘Naam-1986’ was directed by Mahesh Bhatt for ‘Aryan Films’.

It was produced by Kumar Gaurav and presented by Rajendra Kumar. It had Nutan, Kumar Gaurav, Sanjay Dutt, Poonam Dhillon, Amrita Singh, Pankaj Udhas with Paresh Rawal, Aakash Khurana, Ram Mohan etc in it.

Story, screenplay, and dialogues of this movie were written by Salim Khan. Editing of this movie was done by David Dhawan.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 30.08.1986.

This movie had six songs (including one multiple version song) written by Anand Bakshi and music was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

Tu Kal Chala Jayega” (Solo) Mohammed Aziz
Veriya Ve Kiya Kya Kasoor Maine Lata Mangeshkar

Lata Mangeshkar, Pankaj Udhas, Manhar Udhas, Mohammed Aziz and Kavita Krishnamurthy had given their voices to the songs of this movie.

Today we are going to listen the second song from this movie sung by Mohammed Aziz and lip-synced on screen by Kumar Gaurav.

I had watched this movie during my stay at Parli Vaijnath then in 1986. Though I do not remember much about this movie now. The today’s song seems to be a party song where paintings of ‘people suffering in poverty and hunger’ are seen to be displayed.

We can see Poonam Dhillon and others present their while Kumar Gaurav performs on this song.

I think all the songs from this movie are good songs to listen and they were all quite popular too, ‘chitthi aayi hai’ being the most popular among them.

Let us now listen to today’s song, the second song of this movie on the blog, appearing after a gap of twelve years, five months, and fifteen days (or 4550 days including 17.04.2021) since its first song on the blog.

The journey continues … with many miles to go …

And here it arrives … our musical bandwagon …Wishing you all a very ‘Happy New Year-2021’!!!
Let us all be safe, healthy, peaceful and enjoying music wherever we are!!!

We start our journey with this lovely song which is saying ‘din pyaar ke aayenge’ and though here the expressions are of a lover for her love, the message we wish to convey is for all of us or rather for all on this globe – the mankind, the humanity, the nature, the environment, and for our ecological existence. Let the love blossoms and we all enjoy our stay here and do good for others as possible.

Trains have been part of our movies since long and there are many song sequences and scenes picturised on the trains or having trains at the back drop. It will be interesting to study those movies and how effectively trains/railways have been used in various movies. I had started to note down some movie names and looking for this subject landed me on this article here.

It was only during the ‘pandemic’ that this ‘lifeline of the nation’ was stopped, and passenger services had to be discontinued. It never happened earlier in the history of this nation not even during the ‘war’ period.
But now gradually things are coming back to normal and I wish that the ‘normal’ is restored soon in the months to come.

Let us hope that this ‘lifeline of the Nation’ is back to full swing again.

I have always loved the ‘train journeys’ since my childhood and even now I feel it very nostalgic to visit railway stations and travel by train. I wonder, if I still have these feelings that I am excited to see the trains, how the peoples who are staying in the hills and still have not travelled by train or not seen them would feel if they get this opportunity.

Let us also contribute to the safety our ‘lifeline’ and care for its assets. Let us protect it and discourage those who try to damage this national property.

Let us now enjoy this wonderful song composed by Pancham Da who have given us some gems of trains songs viz. ‘zindagi ke safar mein guzar jaate hai jo makaam’ and others. Lyrics are by Majrooh Sultanpuri and today’s song is sung by Lata Mangeshkar.
This is from the ‘1986’ movie ‘Sawere Waali Gaadi’ … ‘din pyaar ke aayenge sajaniyaa’
