“Aa Gale La Jaa” (1973) was produced by A K Nadiadwala and directed by Manmohan Desai. The movie had Shashi Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore, Shatrughan Sinha, Sulochana, Om Prakash, Jagdeep, Shobha Khote, Asrani, Gajanan Jagirdar etc in it.
Four songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the final song from the movie. This song is in fact a song in two versions. The happy version (which gets sad by the end of the song) is sung by Kishore Kumar and Sushma Shreshtha and it is picturised on Shashi Kapoor and a kid who is seen growing up with every passing stanza but loses his legs in a mishap and would need crutches to walk for the rest of his life.
The sad version, as can be guessed is meant to make people cry. It shows Shashi Kapoor fighting for his life while he son obviously does not know what will happen to him in this world, as Sharmila Taoge tries to console him.
The movie is 42 years old and I have not watched it. And going by the video of this song, which I find quite moving, I do not think I will have the stomach to watch this movie, even though I know very well that it is just a movie, after all.

Atulji, aap bhi majak karte ho. Manmohan Desai ki picture kabhi rone-dhone ki nahin ho sakti. Thoda bahut bas! Wase maine bhi yeh picture nahin dekhi hai. Magar ab dekhonanga!
