I just want to remind the readers of Mr. Atul’s earlier write up (posted on Jan 31, 2009) on उनको ये शिकायत है from the earlier अदालत (मदन मोहन)
There have been more movies with the same name subsequently, but this ‘Adalat” is the one to look forward to, if one wants to enjoy some evergreen classy music. And the lyrics by Rajinder Kishan are so nice too.
How true! One can make similar comments about songs from Seema (1955) vs Seema (1971).
Another comment made at in the was:
This was one of the few Madan Mohan movies which had leading actors of the day acting in it. Pradeep Kumar, Nargis and Pran were the actors in this movie. Nargis played the central character in the movie and naturally she gets to sing many songs in this movie. And these songs are remembered to this day.
Actually, there were quite a few films in this category (leading actors of the day acting in it). Here is a partial list.
Ashiana (1954): Nargis, Raj Kapoor
Pocket Maar (1956): Dev Anand, Geeta Bali
Mem Sahib (1956): Meena Kumari, Shammi Kapoor (not well known at the time)
Bhai-Bhai (1956): Ashok Kumar, Kishore Kumar, Nimmi
Mohar (1959): Shammi Kapoor, Geeta Bali
Duniya Na Mane (1959): Pradeep Kumar, Mala Sinha
Anpadh (1962): Mala Sinha, Balraj Sahni, Dharmendra (relatively new)
Woh Kaun Thi? (1964): Sadhana, Manoj Kumar
Sharabi (1964): Dev Anand, Madhubala
Pooja Ke Phool (1964): Ashok Kumar, Mala Sinha, Dharmendra
Gazal (1964): Meena Kumari, Sunil Dutt
Dulhan Ek Raat Ki (1967): Dharmendra, Nutan
Bawarchi (1972): Rajesh Khanna, Jaya Bhaduri
