The song is picturised on Neetu Singh as a villain’s den song cum singing under duress song. Hullo Atuldom

19th July- our blog turns an year older. I have been writing for the occasion for a few years now. (Think the habit set-in in 2015 or 2016). But I seem to have missed writing a post in 2021. Here is my post from 2020. Whatever I have said in that post still holds true for me.

I am still thankful that I discovered the blog and thankful that Atulji gave us this platform where novices like me have a place to post our thoughts. Thankful that Atulsongaday gave me a new set of HFM loving friends who have a wealth of information which has enriched us. There are some among the regulars who I have met a few times and some whom I have never met – Atulji included. Let us hope we have a grand party where all Atulites and Satulites congregate. As Rajaji has said in the comments to my post (on 19th July 2020), and I quote “We all might have got onto this journey at different stations but it has been a wonderful journey, with lots of memories and shared experiences.”

In my post on 19th July 2020 I had mentioned my blog journey but I simply love what Sudhirji has written in his post dated 19th July 2012. And I quote “I suggest to Atul ji, to put up a Statutory Warning on the home page – that the new visitors be aware that this website is intensely habit forming – enter at your own risk. 🙂 🙂 ”

This blogsite is indeed very addictive.

The following are Atulji’s thoughts on his post of 19th July 2020

“Once again, I thank one and all on the occasion of the birthday of the blog. Let us hope and wish that this musical bandwagon will keep rolling on and on for many more years.”

To which I say ‘Tathastu’ or ‘Ameen’ or ‘So Be It’

May we have many more birthdays of our favourite blog and may we find many more gems.
I am not attempting a blog-ten-year-challenge. Just out of curiosity I visited the post of 19th July 2012 and these are the songs posted on that date.

Blog post number Song Movie (Year) Poster YIPPEE status
6265 Allah megh de paani de Palkon Ki Chhaaon Mein(1977) Atul Ji YIPPEED
6266 Chupke se dil de de nahin te shor mach jaayegaa Maryada(1971) Atul Ji YIPPEED
6267 Aa bhi jaa meri duniya mein Daaera(1953) Raja ji YIPPEED
6268 Ye kaafilaa hai pyaar ka chalta hi jaayegaa Lekh(1949) Sudhir ji Not YIPPEED
6269 Duniya mein rehna hai to kaam karo pyaare Haathi Mere Saathi (1971) Atul Ji YIPPEED

As can been seen five songs were posted of which only one movie is yet to be yyiippeeeed, and I have no clue as to the availability of the songs of that particular movie viz. “Lekh” (1949). But three of the songs posted that day featured the much-loved Rajesh Khanna. He had just said ‘goodbye’ to this mortal world on 18th. Gosh!!! unbelievable, it is already ten years!!! As Rajesh Khanna has mouthed in one of his songs-

“waqt chalta hi rehta hai rukta nahin
ek pal mein ye aage nikal jaata hai”

Even though he has said in another song “Yahaan kal kya ho kisne jaana”.

Let us have a song from a Rajesh Khanna movie today and recall his lovely smile, expressive eyes and dancing style.

Currently I am on a short vacation, along the Western Sea Coast of this lovely country of ours. Soaking in the sea and the rains, much like the date in 2014 when the 10000th song was being awaited by the followers. I also seem to be making a habit of taking a break from routine around this time of the year.

I tried looking up for a Rajesh Khanna song that is filmed on a beach, Goa specifically. Could only recall the iconic song from “ANAND”. The other song which features Rajesh Khanna as a fisherman has been posted. Hence I am settling for the following. (Rajesh Khanna fans on the blog will definitely think up of more Kaka songs on the beaches and seashore)

The song is from the 1976 release “Mahaachor” which had music by RD Burman and Anand Bakshi was the lyricist. The playback singers used were Asha Bhonsle-Lata Mangeshkar-Kishore Kumar. There was a very Punjabi-flavoured song which had Rajesh Khanna in disguise. He looks lean & handsome and Neetu Singh looks charming as the ‘roothhi biwi’. The couple seem to be running from the cops and suddenly leave the vehicle to break into the song. That song has Anand Bakshi giving his voice for Rajesh Khanna (I think it is a first) and Asha Bhonsle sings for Neetu.

Happy Birthday to Atulsongaday.me

Hullo Atuldom

There are so many possible songs to go with today’s post. Songs that will do justice to the personality and versatile talent of the concerned celebrity.
He was an actor born with acting in his genes. He was not a star-kid but a star-heir, facing the camera for the first time when he was barely 2 or 3 years old. He was seen next as an adolescent playing his father’s Bachpan. All that I have written are well known facts about this actor, who in later years turned a producer-director much like his father. Along with his brothers he tried to keep the studio and banner, set up by his showman father, aloft till 2017 when the iconic property in Mumbai’s Chembur area caught fire and collapsed during the shoot of a television reality show. The brothers then decided to pull down the shutters on a piece of history of Indian cinema.

Regular movie-buffs will know that I am speaking of Raj Kapoor’s sons- Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv and the RK Films and RK Studios. The last movie that came from this banner was “Aa Ab Laut Chalen” (1999) which was directed by Rishi Kapoor. Before that “Prem Granth” (1996) which was directed by Rajiv Kapoor and “Henna” (1991) directed by Randhir Kapoor were the offerings from RK Films both of which had Rishi Kapoor playing the central character.

As I mentioned above Rishi Kapoor had acting in his genes with all the males (before him) from his family, being in the entertainment industry -Prithviraj Kapoor (grandfather), Raj Kapoor (father) Shammi Kapoor & Shashi Kapoor (uncles). Chintu (as Rishi Kapoor used to be addressed fondly) had shared screen space with his uncles and has been directed by his father in a few movies. I doubt if has appeared in any movie with his niece- Karisma and Kareena; but he has acted with his son Ranbir which was incidentally his wife Neetu’s comeback to movies, after she quit the limelight for family life.

The last movie that he faced the camera for, post his return from USA after undergoing treatment for the dreaded C, released on an OTT channel on 31st March 2022. I happened to see this for the love of Chintu and I must say ‘I was not disappointed’.

Chintu was one actor who had always emoted well and things were not any different in “Sharmaji Namkeen”. The unique thing about the film was the way they had two actors play a single character. Maybe a first in Indian movies. Actually, there was about four days shoot left, of the movie, at the time of Chintu’s passing. Paresh Rawal stepped in and the movie was completed. The makers didn’t re-shoot the parts which Chintu had completed. Instead, the transition in the scenes with the two actors was kept seamless and they didn’t try to get a single person to dub for the two actors (both actors spoke in their own voice). I would love to see the movie all over again just to enjoy the smooth handling of the movie. It had all the trademark stuff that fans of Chintu loved him for including the sweaters and mufflers that he was famous for.

Much as I would like to share a song from “Sharmaji Namkeen” in this post I am settling for one of his popular numbers from the ’70s. (Link to Sharmaji songs is not yet available on Youtube).

Today’s song may well be one of those categorized as “How come this song was not posted earlier?”. It features Chintu with Neetu Singh and is written by Gulshan Bawra. Kalyanji Anandji are the music directors of this song that is sung by Shailendra Singh and Asha Bhonsle.

This movie, “Rafoo Chakkar” (1975), was directed by Narinder Bedi and produced by House of Nadiadwalas. It had Faryal, Asrani, Paintal, Rajindernath, Sulochana, Mumtaz Begum, Madan Puri, Anwar Hussain, Shetty, Kamran, etc in addition to the lead pair of Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor. It had six songs of which the blog has the following four.

Song Date of posting
Chhu chhuk chhak chhak Bombay se Baroda tak 4 September 2012
Dil lena buri bala hai 22 August 2013
Tumko mere dil ne pukaara hai 21 January 2014
Bhajan bina chain na aaye Raam 30 June 2020

Let us enjoy the locales of Kashmir and remember how simple life was back in the 70s. The girl needed to educate the guy ‘what love was all about’ 🙂

Song-Kisi pe dil agar aa jaaye to kya hota hai (Rafoo Chakkar)(1975) Singers-Shailendra Singh, Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Gulshan Baawra, MD-Kalyanji Anandji

Lyrics

kisi pe dil agar aa jaaye to kya hota hai
kisi pe dil agar aa jaaye to kya hota hai
wahi hota hai jo manzoor e khuda hota hai
wahi hota hai jo manzoor e khuda hota hai
koi dil pe agar chha jaaye to kya hota hai

wahi hota hai jo manzoor e khuda hota hai
wahi hota hai jo manzoor e khuda hota hai

mujhko zulfon ke saaye mein so jaane do sanam
mujhko zulfon ke saaye mein so jaane do sanam
ho raha hai jo dil mein ho jaane do sanam
ho raha hai jo dil mein ho jaane do sanam

baat dil ki dil mein rah jaaye to phir kya hota hai
baat dil ki dil mein rah jaaye to phir kya hota hai
wahi hota hai jo manzoo e khuda hota hai
wahi hota hai jo manzoor e khuda hota hai

kisi pe dil agar aa jaaye to kya hota hai
wahi hota hai jo manzoor e khuda hota hai
wahi hota hai jo manzoor e khuda hota hai

kya manzoor hai khuda ko baataao to zara
kya manzoor hai khuda ko bataao to zara

jaan jaaogi, baahon mein aa jaao to zara
jaan jaaogi, baahon mein aa jaao to zara
koi jo baahon mein aa jaaye to phir kya hota hai
koi jo baahon mein aa jaaye to phir kya hota hai

wahi hota hai jo manzoor e khuda hota hai
wahi hota hai jo manzoor e khuda hota hai
kisi pe dil agar aa jaaye to kya hota hai
kisi pe dil agar aa jaaye to kya hota hai
wahi hota hai jo manzoor e khuda hota hai

Blog Day : 4991 Post No. : 16884 Movie Count : 4589

Hullo Atuldom

A very very Happy Holi to all the followers of this wonderful blog. May there be lots of ‘rang and umang’ all around.

I have been following this blog for 13 years i.e. from March 2009. The head-over-heels involvement began almost instantly. I see that 66 songs, connected with this colourful festival, have been posted in all these years. I find a few songs showcasing the festival have been posted on ‘non-holi’ days too. So that must indicate that we will not have sufficient songs in coming years to post on festival days. But that is not so.

The film industry has been in existence since 1912/1913, and its romance with the festival of colours may have started almost immediately. (I did my own searching, on our blog, and found a post by Sudhirji where he has mentioned that “the songs of Holi go as far back as 1931.”)

A search on Google for the first song of Holi in Indian films came up with the song from Mehboob Khan’s “Aurat”. That song is on the blog with a post by Sudhirji which I have spoken of in the previous para. In that post he has written, and I quote

“As is inseparable, the festival of Holi and its songs from our lives, so it is also inseparable from the Hindi film screen. It is no wonder that the most celebrated of all the festivals on the Hindi screen is this festival of colors.” He also writes “In fact, many times, the situation of Holi is simply engineered into the storyline. Just so that one more song and dance sequence can be inserted into the screenplay.”

That being the love between the festival of colours and films, we will never run out of songs to post. I don’t remember the last time I wrote out a Holi-Song for the blog, but I recalled a few possible songs for the festival this year. And as is my habit I have tried to combine two occasions with this one post.

18th March would have been the 84th birthday of the smart, cute, gentleman actor Shashi Kapoor -of the charming smile. The DTH channel, that I currently follow, keeps playing interviews of yesteryear heroines like Moushumi Chatterjee, Sharmila Tagore, Zarina Wahab etc. All of them have one thing to say about this actor – “He was very gracious and courteous. Very caring and went out of his way to make the ladies comfortable”. He never had any qualms about acting the second lead and we know of his pairing with Amitabh Bachchan, but he was equally at ease sharing screen space with Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Khanna, Shatrughan Sinha, Sanjeev Kumar, Dharmendra etc. He may not have been the best of dancers, so what, he moved with a sense of rhythm and never seemed to miss a beat.

Today’s song is from the 1981 release “Ek Aur Ek Gyarah” that was directed by Ashok Roy. It had Neetu Singh, Zarina Wahab, Shashi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna, Prem Chopra, Om Prakash, P. Jairaj, Bharat Bhushan, Asrani, Master Bhagwan, etc in the cast. Laxmi-Pyare and Majrooh Sultanpuri were responsible for the music and produced by Ram Prasad Sharma. This holi-song is sung by Hemlata, Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar. It has all the standard, filmy, elements needed viz. dry and wet colours, bhang, and eve-teasing too towards the end of the song. But we can also see the lady replying sternly to the guy that “joote maaroongi”. If we see the dance closely, at one point we have Shashi Kapoor desperately trying to match Neetu Singh step-for-step and breaking into some choreography of his own. A thing that always catches my attention in holi-songs is however wet the actors get their dresses are dry in the very next instant.

I must say that I have actively participated in the merry-making of Holi and I have never seen anyone go crazy yelling ‘holi hai’. I have never seen people breaking into song and dance about it. Possible that these things happen in Brij bhoomi, and parts of North India. I would like to tour that region during holi, if possible. Also I would like to see the Lath-Maar Holi of Nandgaon and Barsana.

Happy Holi to one and all once again.

Remembering Shashi Kapoor …………

——————————————-—————————

I had mentioned in one of my earlier post on the blog, that nowadays (since Nov’2020 end) I got to listen to the radio utilizing my morning and evening time of about an hour or so while commuting towards my workplace (in the morning) and while returning back (in the evening). And normally I tune in to ‘Vivid Bharati’ only.

This exercise has given me an opportunity to listen to many songs from yesteryears and also songs from new movies. The joy and excitement of ‘the next song to be played’ is always there as on radio we cannot play songs of our choice.

Today’s song is one such song. hen I was listening to it, it sounded familiar but then I had not attentively listened to the name of the movie while the broadcast was on. The refrain ‘salaam salaam salaam’ in this song sounded familiarbut I could not put a finger to it. So, I looked for the details of this song.

This song turned out to be from the ‘1979’ movie ‘Aatish’.

That reminded me that I had watched this movie in the ‘summer vacations’ at Akola with my brothers and cousins. But I do not remember anything about the story of this movie and other details. Only thing that is still fresh in my mind is that this was a ‘Jeetendra Movie’. 😊

I looked for the video of this song and found that this song is performed by Neetu Singh (and I must say she is looking very beautiful in this song). Jeetendra, the object of her craving, is also present in the picturization of this song.

“Aatish-1979” was directed by Ambarish Sangal for ‘M.K. Enterprises, Bombay’. It had Jeetendra, Neetu Singh, Rinku, Dheeraj, Leena Das, Om Shivpuri, Mukri, Mumtaz Begam, Master Raju, Nirupa Roy, Madan Puri, Sujit Kumar (in special appearance), Brahm Bharadwaj, Subhash Kanwal, Kamal Deep, Ranveer Raj, Chandru, Kishan, Ashok Saksena, Raj Kumar, Ram Narayan and others.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 16.02.1979.

There were six songs in this movie written and composed by Ravindra Jain.

Here is the list of songs of this movie as appearing in HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980);

S.No. Song Title Singer/s Posted On
01 Ladke ke bhes mein ladki hoon Asha Bhonsle, Chorus

05 Babu manejara ve he babu, manejara ve Lata, Rafi, Chorus
06 Kahin naam na apnaa likh dena … Asha Bhonsle, Hemlata, Bhushan Mehta, Mohd Rafi, chorus

Only one song from this movie has been posted on the blog on 13.08.2011. So, one can notice that this movie is about to complete its ‘ten-year’ run on the blog within next five months. 😊

let us now listen to today’s song which is sung by Asha Bhonsle and lip-synced on screen by Neetu Singh. As mentioned above lyrics are by Ravindra Jain who has also the music director for this movie.

Hullo Atuldom

4th August. A day that is important for Kishore Kumar fans. He would have 91.

Almost as a ritual all channels will show some movie were we see the best side of KK. His wonderful singing, his comic timing. His weird dancing. We will be treated to either Padosan or Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi or any other popular movie. But we in this blog are unique, in the sense we dig out a new song for every occasion/ post. We also strive to find a different facet of the artist.

I had done a similar thing. I had written a full post and was taking down the lyrics of the song I had zeroed in on. For some reason I visited the blog’s “List of songs-moviewise” tab and searched for my selected song. And what do I find!!?? The song which I thought was not yet on the blog was already posted, only under a different movie. Which song was this? It was this song. I always thought it belonged to another famous movie. I wrote out everything about that song and then discovered the above link.

But there is nothing to worry. We still have a large library of songs to choose from. So here is a new song. New by the standards of this blog. I don’t know which was the last song of Kishore Kumar under Shankar-Jaikishen baton that was posted on this blog. Let us have one today.

“Chorni” (1981) was directed by Jyoti Swaroop and starred Neetu Singh with Jeetendra. The movie was about how a young maid (Neetu Singh) is exploited and harassed by the spoilt son of the family that has employed her. How, when she tries to save herself, she is framed and accused of being a thief. She is sent to a juvenile home and on coming out she is a changed person. But the judge (Dr. Shreeram Lagoo) who had sent her to the juvenile home takes her home to try and change her back into the loving soul that she was. The general physician (Jeetendra) of the judge’s family takes it on himself to groom her too and in the process falls in love. Today’s song is the doctor voicing his love to the girl.

This was one of the last movies with Shankar Jaikishan’s music I suppose. The song has all the elements of a S-J song, and could have been a tune that they would have used for a Shammi Kapoor song. Specially the closing of the song. It was written by Shailendra. This song is having Kishore Kumar giving playback to Jeetendra who is wooing a sweet and simple Neetu Singh. “Chorni” makes its debut on the blog on the occasion of Kishore Kumar’s 91st birthday.

My accomplishment in this post is I have managed to find a song where Kishore Kumar is not giving playback to Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan or Dev Anand and it is not by the standard team of Anand Bakshi- R.D.Burman or Laxmikant Pyarelal. Another achivement is I haven’t mentioned any known facts about KK- his birthplace, birth-name or lineage.

Remembering the singer behind many successful actors.

Ed notes: According to HFGK part 6, the lyricists of “Chprni”(181) were Shailly Shailendra, Hasrat Jaipuri, Veerendra and Singaar. Singaar is the lyricist of this song.

#the Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #

——————————————

Today’s song is from the 1974 movie ‘Hawas’. This movie is mostly known by its song “Teri Galiyon Mein Na Rakkhenge Kadam“. I remember that this song was frequently played on radio and loud speakers in those years. And I too associate this movie only with this song and had never tried to listen to the other songs of this movie. And yes, I never get to watch this movie until now.

So, when our dear Prakash ji had sent a song from this movie, I was eager to know about the other songs from this movie. So far, two songs (including the song mentioned above) from this movie have been posted on the blog.

‘Hawas’ is directed by Sawan Kumar for ‘Mercury Productions’. He was also the producer, storywriter and the lyricist of this movie. The star cast includes Anil Dhawan, Neetu Singh, Bindu, Vidya Sinha, Shiv Kumar, Fariyal, Pradeep Kumar, Randhawa and Mehmood. Supported by Pichoo Kapoor, Ashok Khanna, Randhir, Asit Sen, Shera, Basant, Neelam, Nelu, Sharmilee, Jugnu, and Coca-cola. Rekha and Vinod Mehra made friendly appearance in this movie.

Story of this movie is written by Sawan Kumar while the screenplay was written by Bimal Dutt. Dialogues were written by Ameen Sayani and editing of this movie was done by YG Chouhan. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 11.06.1974 with ‘restricted viewing’ certificate.

This movie has five songs sung by Asha Bhonsle (four songs) and Mohd Rafi (one solo song).  Lyrics for all the five songs are written by Sawan Kumar and music is composed by Usha Khanna.

Today, 8th July is the sixty-second birth anniversary of actress Neetu Singh (born on 08th July, 1958). On this occasion here is a song from this movie picturized on her. She is lip-syncing Asha Bhonsle’s voice on the screen and many other female artists and Anil Dhawan can be seen in the picturization of this song.

I had never listened to this song earlier. It’s lovely song and grows upon if we listen to it more and more.

Let us now enjoy the today’s song …

Hullo Atuldom

I don’t remember when was the last birthday post that I wrote for the sweet, chulbuli, very bright, charming and ever smiling Neetu Singh who made her debut in Bollywood as Baby Sonia in the double role of twin sisters, in ‘Do Kaliyan’ (1968).

But my thoughts and appreciation about her are there in the post for the song “Phoolon Ki Duniya Se Taaron Ki Duniya Mein“.

In there I had mentioned that she had appeared in 2013 in a movie called ‘Besharam’ which was directed by Abhinav Kashyap. She played a constable of the Delhi Police going by the name ‘Bulbul Chautala’ who is shown assisting Inspector ‘Chulbul Chautala’ (Rishi Kapoor) in tracking down a car thief Babli (Ranbir Kapoor). I saw this movie recently and realized that I still adore this pyari jodi  who had been a craze till Neetu Singh got married and settled to look after her family.

Today’s song plays with the end credits of the movie and is sung by Mika Singh, Daler Mehndi and Sunidhi Chauhan where we have the young couple Rishi and Neetu dancing along with Ranbir and Pallavi Sharda. The song is written by Kumaar which is the mononym for Rakesh Kumar- a lyricist who has been active in Bollywood for a few years now. The music director is Lalit Pandit who used to form a team with his brother Jatin Pandit and gave us some chart-buster songs in movies like ‘Yes Boss’ (1997), ‘DDLJ’ (1995) etc.

The song has the evergreen pair shaking a leg to the beats of a very modern song which is neither a bhangra nor a disco. I must admit that it must have taken lots of guts to take to the dance floor after a gap of thirty years. The last movie where she had danced had come in 1983 ‘Ganga Meri Maa’ which if my guess is right would have been one that released long after it was completed.

Wishing this sweet charming and smiling on her 62nd birthday though I feel she may not celebrate this year. But I think we can still wish her health and happiness.

#the Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #
————————————————————
# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # 94 # Kalyanji-Anandji – Year 1975
———————————————–———————————————

Today 30th June 2020 is 92nd birth anniversary of Kalyanjibhai Virjibhai Shah (30 June 1928 – 24 August 2000) of the great music director duo Kalyanji-Anandji.

On this occasion as a tribute to him here is a song from the ‘1975’ movie ‘Rafoo Chakkar’. I vaguely remember to have watched this movie with my parents and brothers in my childhood. I was just around seven years old then (considering the date of release of this movie). However, the songs of this movie have always remained in my memory. I think they were very popular in those years and were frequently heard on loud speakers and radio. Particularly the songs ‘chhuk chhuk chhak chhak Bombay se Baroda tak’, ‘tumko mere dil ne’, ‘kisi pe dil agar aa jaaye to kya hota hai’, ‘dil lena buri balaa hai’, ‘ae zamaane tu kar le sitam pe sitam’…

Almost all songs from this movie were good and I have a big nostalgia of the songs of this movie. So, when I became a member of this blog I had shared a couple of songs, and one of them ‘tumko mere dil ne’ was posted on 21.01.2014 (much later according to me, because when I joined the blog I always thought all songs of the seventies must be already there . 🙂

‘Tum ko mere dil ne’ has always been my big favorite and so is ‘kisi pe dil agar’ but then there is one more song from this movie which brings back memories for me and I am going to present this song today.
And since this song was pending since 2013, I thought I should go with it instead of taking another song when I was thinking of a post on this occasion today. All these years this song has been in my dormant memory associated with the name of this movie ‘Rafoo Chakkar’. I have no recollection of having watched this movie again either in theatre or on TV channels. I have only watched a couple of its songs on TV. I may have watched parts of this movie when it was being aired on TV.

“Rafoo Chakkar-1975’ was a presentation from the ‘House of Nadiadwala’. It was produced by I.A. Nadiadwala for ‘M.I. Films Pvt Ltd’. This movie was directed by Narinder Bedi.

Ajay Kumar was the chief assistant director while assistant director was Kapil Kapoor. Raj Bedi was the dialogue director.

Story of this movie was written by Jayant Dharmadhikari, whereas the dialogues were written by Kadar Khan. K.K. Shukla had written the screenplay of this movie.

Editing of this movie was done by Babubhai Thakkar.

It had Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Rajindernath, Faryal, Asrani, Master Chikkoo with Paintal, Madan Puri, Anwar Hussain, Sulochana, Mumtaz Begum, Shetty, Viju Khote, Shamim, Surender Shetty, K.N. Singh, Sudhir, Bhagwan, MacMohan, Man Mohan, Habib, Jankidas, M. Rajan, Tiwari, Mohan Sherry, Hiralal, Rajan Haksar, Goga, Dalpat, Sapru and Kamran.

Lyrics were written by Gulshan Bawra and music was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji.

Asha Bhonsle, Usha Mangeshkar, Shailendra Singh, Kanchan, Mahesh Kumar and Aziz Nazan were the playback singers who had given their voices to the songs in this movie.

Jaikumar conducted the music while Frank Fernand was the arranger and Babla was the assistant in music of this movie.

This movie was passed by Censor Board on 02.01.1975.

In 1975 there were a ‘dozen’ of movies where Kalyanji-Anandji had composed the music for them. Here is the list;

None of the songs of this movie “Rafoo Chakkar-1975” make it to the annual list of ‘Binaca Geetmala’ of that year. And only two compositions of Kalyanji-Anandji featured in that year’s list one from the previous years’ release ‘Haath Ki Safaai-1974’ i.e. ‘waadaa kar le sajnaa’ at number six and another from the movie ‘Dharmaatma-1975’ which was ‘tere chehre mein wo jaadu hai’ at number thirty-one.

The title song of ‘Uljhan-1975’ figured at number eleven in the annual list of ‘Binaca Geetmala-1976’.

Let us now enjoy the today’s song which is sung by Aziz Nazan and Kanchan. On screen Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh are lip syncing the voices of Aziz Nazan and Kanchan whereas we can see Rajindernath, Paintal, Sulochana, Mumtaz Begum and many others in the picturization of this song.
Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Rajindernath and Paintal are performing ‘hippies’ in disguise (not for viewers) to get release of the captivated Sulochana and Mumtaz Begum.

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 36
—————————————————————————

This day ten years ago (viz 11 june 2010) saw as many as five songs being covered. Discussing as many as five songs in a day was quite rare those day. This feat was achieved only four times in previous seven months !

Following five ssongs were overed on 11 june 2010:-

SongMovie title-YearRemarksJeena kyaa aji pyaar binaaDhan Daulat – 198001 song posted (of 5)Gayaa bachpan jo aayi jawaaniAankhon Aankhon Mein – 1972All songs coveredMere man ke diyeParakh-1960All songs coveredMagar ae haseenaa e bekhabar Dholak-1951All songs coveredHam aankh michauli khelenge Khandaan-1942All songs covered

It is interesting to note that four films (out of five) covered that day are already YIPPEED. “Dhan Daulat”(1980) was on the other end of the spectrum. No other song from this movie has been discussed in last ten years !

“Dhan Daulat”(1980) was produced by Vinod Shah and directed by Harish Shah for Shilpkaar, Bombay. The movie had Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Mala Sinha, Pran, Premnath, Prem Chopra, Sujeet Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Kader Khan, Agha, Vikas Anand, Brahm Bhardwaj, Preeti Ganguli, Avtar Gill, Azad aka Azad Irani, Daljit Kaur, Yusuf Khan, Kirti Kumar, Manmauji, Amarnath Mukherjee, Pardesi, Madan Puri, Jagdish Raj, Ranvir Raj, Sajjan, Master Sandeep, Amol Sen Aka Amal Sen, Asit Sen aka Asit Kumar Sen, Master Raju Shrestha, Shyamlal, Shyam, Birbal etc in it.

The movie had five songs in it and only one song has been covered so far (as already mentioned above).

As “Blog Ten Year Challenge”, here is the second song from “Dhan Daulat”(1980) to appear in the blog. the song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. music is composed by R D Burman.

The song is picturised as a party song where a reluctant Neetu Singh is coerced to sing this song by Rishi Kapoor, with Prem Chopra egging her on. Sujeet Kumar, Azad irani etc are also present in this party.

The lyrics of this song were sent by Prakashchandra, whereas the devnagri script lyrics are by Avinash Scrapwala.

The audio version contains the fuull song, whereas the video only contains one stanza.

Song-Shikwa koi tumse na hai tumpe koi zor (Dhan Daulat)(1980) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Majrooh Sultanpuri, MD-R D Burman

Lyrics( Provided by Prakashchandra) (based on audio link)

shikwa
koi tumse
naa hai tumpe
koi zor
tumko apna
samjhein ham
tum nikley
koyi aur
tum nikley
koyi aur
shikwa
koi tumse
naa hai tumpe
koi zor
tumko apna
samjhein ham
tum nikley
koyi aur
tum nikley
koyi aur

laaye thhe aankhon mein
ham bhi kya kya sapne
chhota sa aangan sajegaa
pyaar se apne
laaye thhe aankhon mein
ham bhi kya kya sapne
chhota sa aangan sajegaa
pyaar se apne
lekin
zindagi ka
nahin sapne jaisa tod
tumko apna samjhein ham
tum nikley
koi aur
tum nikley
koi aur

kehte hain raahi ko
loote hai andhiyaara
lekin loota raushni mein
pyaar hamaaraa
kehte hain raahi ko
loote hai andhiyaara
lekin loota roshni mein
pyaar hamaaraa
sunn lo
sunn sako to
rote armaanon kaa shor
tumko apna
samjhein ham
tum nikley
koi aur
tum nikley
koi aur
shikwa
koi tumse
na hai tumpe ae
koi zor
tumko apna
samjhein ham
tum nikley
koi aur
tum nikley
koi aur

ho o tum nikley
ko aur
