“Wahan Chalo Jis Jagah Aur Koi Na Ho” by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle is my next song in the Rare/Rarely Heard songs of Asha Bhosle. This song is penned by Anand Bakshi and composed by RD Burman. The song is from the 1976 movie Dhongee!
“Dhongee” was directed by Ashok Roy and produced by Kant Kumar productions. It has a starcast of Randhir Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Asrani, Sujit Kumar, Farida Jalal, Iftikhar, and Premnath. Rakesh Roshan had a friendly appearance.

‘Udhaar Ka Sindoor-1976’ was a Prasad Productions (P) Ltd, Bombay presentation. It was produced by L.V.Prasad and directed by Chander Vohra. Its cast includes Asha Parekh, Jeetendra, Reena Roy, Om Shivpuri, Asrani, Dheeraj Kumar, Prema Narayan, Urmila Bhatt, Sayten Kappu, Manmohan Krishna, Manju Bansal, Pental, Dhumal, Raj Verma, Ashalata, Bhatnagar, Vikas Anand, Kanwar, Master Apurva, Dhanna, Renu, Jayshree T. It also has Rita Bhaduri and Kamal Kapoor in special appearance. This film was passed by censor board on 15.10.1976. Story of this film was written by A. Pundarikakshayyay, Screenplay was by L.V. Prasad and Dialogues were by Pt. Anand Kumar.

This is a role reversal to “Abhi na jaao chhod ke, ke dil abhi bhara Nahin”. Here Hema Malini is trying to stop Dharmendra from going to his job. She is calling him ‘Raja” and asking him not to leave her alone, take leave from work, or better to leave the job if he is not getting holiday. The filmy or flimsy situation, Lata Mangeshkar’s playback, Hema Malini looking resplendent in a red jacket/suit, begging. Dharmendra on his part is just trying to get away on whatever transport he can find and enjoying all the attention. All that bhav is good for the hero anyway. Songs like “haay haay yeh majboori”, “Na ja mere hamdam”, “bataa doon kya laana” and others convey the similar emotion in different ways.
