“Darshan”(1941) was directed by C M Luhar, B Sc for Prakash pictures. The movie had Prem Adeeb, Jyoti, Meera, Bhudo Advani, Nazeer, Madhusudan, Amirbai Karnataki , Shakir, Baby Kaushalya, C Pandey, Daya Devi, Praveen Kumar, Ram Murty Athavale, Bholaram etc. in it.
Eight songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the ninth song from “Darshan”(1941).
Pt Indra Chandra is the lyricist and music is composed by Naushad, HFGK mentioned Jyoti and Madhusudan as the singers of this song in the corrigendum section.
I listened to the song and found that it is a female solo song. So I do not know how it can be called a duet song. Moreover, the female voice in the song does not resemble the voice of Jyoti as heard in other songs sung by her in this movie and in other movies.
“Darshan”(1941) has another female singer, viz Meera who sang another song in the movie. When I compared the voice of Meera in that song with the song under discussion, I feel that this song too has been sung by Meera. And seeing that Meera (actual name Muriel Alexander) acted in this movie, this song was picturised on her as well. I request our knowledgeable readers to compare the voice in the two songs and offer their view on my identification of this voice.
I have not been able to get some words in the lyrics. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrects words wherever applicable.

HFGK vol 2, page no 624 lists Jyoti and Madhusudan as singers. HFGK information might be wrong according to your findings, but HFGK is NOT SILENT about singers. You may want to change your approach regarding how to best use HFGK.

Thanks for pointing out the entry on page 624. The information about this song being a duet and this being sung by the singers mentioned there is clearly incorrect.
