Wishing all followers of ASAD a very Happy Diwali… I know the festival of lights is over but the schools are yet to reopen after the Diwali Holidays. So the spirit of Diwali is still there in the air.
Now our blog has a page where-in Atulji has a list of Anniversary Dates. This list reminds me of the birth dates of all my favourite stars/ actors and actresses. An interesting fact that I noted was there a few beauty Queens —Miss Indias —- who have their birthdays in November. Juhi Chawla is the first one. She turns 48 today.
She was born in Ambala and had her education in Mumbai. She won the Miss India crown in 1984 and went on to win the Best National Costume award in that years’ Miss Universe. I remember having seen that Pageant live on Doordarshan in that year. Her debut movie was in a small role in Arjun Hingorani’s “Sultanat”. Though the movie was a commercial disaster she got noticed in her next release “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak” in 1988. She won a best new face award for QSQT. She has been training in classical music for the last few years.
On the occasion of her birthday today I found a song where she plays herself meaning a very sweet and PYAARI mom to a cute little son played by master Aman a.k.a Banku. The movie was the 2008 B.R.Films produced “Bhoothnath” which also had Amitabh Bachchan playing a Bhooth waiting for “Mukti”. The movie was full of the bhooth’s antics and the friendship between the small boy and the Bhooth. A very adorable movie to say the least. This song has Juhi and Amitabh singing for themselves to music by Vishal Shekhar and Jaaved Akhtar was the lyricist.
