“Hamaari Manzil”(1949) was directed by O P Datta for Famous Pictures Limited, Bombay. This movie had Nirupa Roy, Prem Adeeb, Gope, Yashodhara Katju, Badri Prasad, Faizi, Gyani, Randhir, Raj Mehra, Mishra, Niranjan Sharma etc in it.

Working women have become a fairly common sight in India these days but that was not the case till about three decades ago and it was certainly unheard of in 1940s ! This song is a light hearted look at working women. The song depicts a reversal of songs for the genders where lady goes to office and the man in a house husband. 🙂 The lady reminds the gentleman that she has to reach the office and the house husband better look after his domestic chores well in her absence. 🙂 And the domestic chores include feeding the baby in time. 🙂
This fun song is sung by Shamshad Begam amd S D Batish. Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Husnlal Bhagatram.
