“Sohni Mahiwal” (1958) was a Chaudhary Art Production movie. It was directed by Raja Nawathe. The movie had Bharat Bhushan, Nimmi, Kumar, Achla Sachdev, Mukri, Lotan, Chand Burque, Om Prakash etc in it.
Five songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth song from this movie. This song is sung by Lata. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Naushad.
The song is picturised on Bharat Bhushan (Mahiwal) going out on a horse and Nimmi (playing Sohni) insisting on accompanying him, playfully of course. Seeing them smile in a Hindi movie is an ephemeral event that few Hindi movie watchers have witnessed. 🙂 This song is one of those rare occasions. 🙂

It is surprising that THIS SONG, so popular then and also at present, was not discussed, up till now, on this Blog. Is there a category in the category list for such songs?
