“Samrat Chandragupta” (1945) was produced and directed by Jayant Desai. The movie had Ishwar Lal, Renuka Devi, Nayam Pally, Suraiya, Mubarak, Sulochana Chatterjee etc in it.
Four songs from this movie has been discussed in the past. Here is the fifth song from this movie. This song is sung by Amirbai Karnataki and G M Durrani. Pt Madhur is the lyricist. Music is composed by C Ramchandra.
Only the audio of this song is available. Seeing that it is the second duet sung by the duo in this movie to be discussed, my guess is that this song was picturised on the lead pair of the movie. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
Song-Jaane waale kuchh kehta jaa (Samrat Chandragupta)(1945) Singers-Amirbai Karnataki, G M Durrani, Lyrics- Pt Madhur, MD-C Ramchandra
Lyrics
jaane waale kuchh kehta jaa aa
jaane waale kuchh kehta jaa aa
kuchh hamri bhi sunta jaa
o o
marne waala hansta hai aaj
marne waala hansta hai aaj
rone waale hansta jaa
kaliyaan abhi to hai khilne na paayin
baahen hamaari ye milne na paayin
ho o o
aankhon ke nanhe nanhe phool
aankhon ke nanhe nanhe phool
tu palkon se chunta jaa
ho o
jaane waale kuchh kehta jaa
kuchh hamri bhi sunta jaa
jaana na thha barbaad karoge
jis din hamen tum yaad karoge
o o o
nazron se tu nazron ka jaal
nazron se tu nazron ka jaal
chupke chupe bunta jaa
o o
jaane waale kuchh kehta jaa aa
kuchh hamri bhi sunta jaa
teri jagah ham hote to
kuchh karke dikhaate
ham tere
tere paseene ki jagah ham khoon bahaate
main ginti hoon milne ke din
main ginti hoon milne ke din
tu raaton ko ginta jaa
ho o
jaane waale kuchh kehta jaa aa
kuchh hamri bhi sunta jaa

The tune of the song, https://atulsongaday.me/2013/02/02/kehke-bhi-na-aaye-tum/ from ‘Safar’ (1946) was inspired from the song under discussion. C Ramchandra composed the music for both the songs.
I had made a combined video of both the songs and had uploaded about 4 years back.
