“Amaanush”(1975) was based on a story by Bangla author Shaktipada Rajguru. this movie was made in Bangla as well as Hindi with nearly the same team of artists.
Produced and directed by Shakti Samanta, the movie had Uttam Kumar, Sharmila Tagore, Anil Chatterjee, Prema narayan, Utpal dutt, Abhi Bhattacharya, Manmohan, Asit Sen, Manik Dutt, Tarun Ghosh, Amol Sen, Subrotho Mahapatra, S.N.Bannerjee, Probir Roy, Rajni Gupta etc. in it
The songs of the movie (Bangla as well as Hindi versions) were sung by the same singers viz Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle and they became very popular and remain so to this date.
The Hindi “Amaanush”(1975) had six songs in it. Three of them have been discussed in the blog in the past. Today (13 january 2017) is the 91st birth anniversary of Shakti Samanta (13 january 1926- 9 april 2009). ON this occasion, here is the fourh song from “Amaanush”(1975) to appear in the blog.
This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Indeewar is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shyamal Mitra.
The song is picturised on Prema Narayan and Uttam Kumar.

Asha has done excellent job, (as usual) in this film, being the ONLY non-Bengoli artist.

I think,Radio Stations especially Vividh Bharti (if my memory serves me right)rarely broadcasts this song(I think in “Ek hi Film se” programme, they used to broadcast this song) because of “sharaab” word in this song………..along with this,they treated another song(call it Sharaab song) from this movie “na poochho koi hamein zeher kyon pee liya”(by kisore da)as untouchable…….
