“Jai Mahalaxmi”(1951) was directed by Nanubhai Vakil for New Laxmi Films, Bombay. The movie had Nirmala, arun Kumar, Shobhana Samarth, Ram singh, Mahipal, Baby Shakuntala, Usha Kiran, Ram Tiwari, Prakash, Niru, Sadhana, Mona, Ratan Kumar, P D lal, A Tiwari, Mishra etc in it.
This obscure ‘Pauranik” movie had nine obscure songs in it.
Here is the first song from “Jai Mahalaxmi”(1951) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Nirmala Devi. Mulkraj Bhakri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Avinash Vyas.
I suspect that there is another female voice in the song towards the last stanza but I cannot be sure. I have not been able to get a word right in the lyrics. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks and/ or suggest corrections as applicable in the lyrics.
With this song, “Jal Mahalaxmi”(1951) makes its debut in the blog.
Song-Wo hamse milenge ham unse milenge(Jai Mahalaxmi)(1951) Singer-Nirmala Devi, Lyrics-Mulkraj Bhakri, MD-Avinash Vyas
Chorus
Lyrics
wo hamse milenge
ham unse milenge
murjhaaye huye phool mere man ke khilenge
wo hamse milenge
ham unse milenge
murjhaaye huye phool mere man ke khilenge
sakhi jaayenge ban thhan ke saajan ke dwaare
sakhi jaayenge ban thhan ke saajan ke dwaare
wahaan nainon hi nainon mein honge ishaare
wahaan nainon hi nainon mein honge ishaare
kuchh apni kahenge
kuchh unki sunenge
murjhaaye huye phool mere man ke khilenge
wo hamse milenge
ham unse milenge
murjhaaye huye phool mere man ke khilenge
piya charnon mein jeewan bitaane chali hoon
piya charnon mein
ho piya charnon mein jeewan bitaane chali hoon
soye bhaag main apne jagaane chali hoon
soye bhaag main apne jagaane chali hoon
unke sang rahenge
unke man mein basenge
murjhaaye huye phool mere man ke khilenge
wo hamse milenge
ham unse milenge
murjhaaye huye phool mere man ke khilenge
tere birha ka ant hua
aaya basant sakhi
tere birha ka ant hua
aaya basant sakhi
mil jaayenge tere bichhde huye ?? sakhi
ab mil jaayenge tere bichhde huye ?? sakhi
unke man mein rahenge
unpe raaj karenge
murjhaaye huye phool mere man ke khilenge
wo hamse milenge
ham unse milenge
murjhaaye huye phool mere man ke khilenge

I hear ‘?? sakhi’ as “sangi-saathi”.
