“Veer Raajputaani”(1956) was directed by JBH Wadia for Basant Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Manhar Desai, Shakila, Meenakshi, Bipin Gupta, B M Vyas, Anwar Hussain, S N Tripathi, Dalpat, Babu raje, Sharda, Azeem Shamsherbaaz, Shreebhagwan, Sardar Mansoor, Helen, Kalla, Pahalwan, Shapur, Abdullah, Bismillah, M K Hasan, Mitthu Miyaan, D Rajkumar, Korega, Hema, Chanda, Pushpa, Menka etc in it.
This “historical” movie had nine songs in it. Four of these songs have been discussed in the past.
Here is the fifth song from “Veer Raajputaani”(1956) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised as a raaj darbaar dance song on Shakila who naturally plays the title role. Gopal Singh Nepali is the lyricist. Music is composed by Bulo C Rani.
After the song is over, Shakila tries to stab the royal person watching the dance, but her assassination attempt is easily foiled, as can be seen. My be the aftermath of this act leads to a few more song situations as is normally the case in Hindi movies. 🙂
