“Kalaakaar”(1954) was produced by Datta Dharmadhikari and directed by Anant Mane for Alhad Pictures, Poona. The movie had Sheila Ramani, Raja Nene, Agha, sundar, Vivek, Niru, Hira Sawant, Raja Gosavi, Ram Kumar, Praveen, Dhumal etc in it.
This obscure “social” movie with obscure artists had eight obscure songs in it.
Here is the first song from “Kalaakaar”(1954) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle, then a newcomer but by now not needing any introduction, but the same came not be said about the others involved with this song. Lyricist of this song was someone called K Raajdaan. He wrote two songs in this movie and I am not sure if his name was heard again.
Music was composed by Vasant Ramchandra who are somewhat better known as compared to the lyricist.
Only the audio of this song is avilable. Seven songs out of eight in this movie were Asha Bhonsle solos, so my guess is that she had sung for the leading lady of the movie, who, going by the cast, should be Shiela Ramani. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
