So this is the Yippeee song for today. I had promised Atul ji that I would do both the debut and the Yippeee songs today. The debut was easy, but getting to the Yippeee turned out to be a ‘tedhi kheer’ today. Atul ji has shared with me a reference list which contains information about the near-Yippeee films. But then cross referencing and searching for the last missing songs becomes quite a job. Anyway, finally I have a song that was blocking the Yippeee for the 1948 film ‘Ziddi’, just because it was not available online, and not available easily otherwise. Thankfully I am able to locate it in my collection and have uploaded the song online today.
It is quite a lovely song of love that I have also listened to, for the first time today. In our email conversations, Atul ji has reminded me about the passing away anniversary of Shamshad Begum tomorrow, i.e. 23rd April. So it is quite opportune that I upload this song today.
The lyrics for this song are written by J Nakshab or Nakshab Jarchvi, and the music is by Khemchand Prakash. I tried to search the video but none is available at this time. I spent some time trying to quickly scan the film itself, but I am unable to locate this song in the film. Maybe it is there, and I missed it. Or maybe it is not there, or otherwise someone would have posted it already. Is this a song excluded from the film? I request our more knowledgeable readers to please add more information if available.
And so, with this post, the film ‘Ziddi’ of 1948 joins the ranks of films with all songs posted on our blog. Another Yippeee moment for us. And this year’s resolution is still getting maintained.
