“Pardesi”(1970) was based on a Novel of the same name by Kushwah Kant, who was a prolific Hindi novelist. At least forty novels (may be more) written by him were published but sadly little information about him is available online. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on him.
“Pardesi”(1970) was produced and directed by Kundan Kumar. The movie had Biswjeet, Mumtaz, Kanan Kaushal, Manmohan, Jeevan,Sujeet Kumar, Brahmachari, Shabnam, Lata Bose, Keshav Rana, Padma Khanna, Sulochana Latkar, Manmohan Krishna, Janki Dass, Geetanjali, Jayashree.T., Sulochana Chatterjee, Hari Shukla, Bhagwan Sinha etc in it.
The movie had si songs in it. Two of these songs have been covered in the blog in the past.
Here is the third song from “Pardesi”(1970) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Chitragupta.
The song is picturised as a cabarat dance song on Jayshree T. Shady looking characters, viz. Sujeet Kumar, Jeewan etc are conspicuous by their presence in the picturisation.
