“Didi”(1948) was produced by Mukund Masurekar for Navbharat Pictures, Bombay. This “social” movie had Ranjana, Ghanshyam, Shobha Rani, Charubala, Pandey, Anand, amrit, Narsi, Cuckkoo etc in it.
This extremely obscure movie had eleven rare songs in it that were penned by two lyricists and sung by five singers.
Here is the third song from “Didi”(1948) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Shankar Dasgupta. Saraswati Kumar Deepak is the lyricist. music is composed by Mukund Masurekar.
Tune of the song is reminiscent of Mukesh’s immortal song “dil jalta hai to jalne de”, but unlike that song, this song from “Didi” (1948) has been forgotten.
Only the audio of the song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
I have not been able to get a word (may be more) right in the lyrics. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the words/ suggest corrections, as applicable.
