This movie had eleven songs in it that were penned by two lyricists and sung by five singers.

Only the audio of the song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.

Song-Mere dil ki duniya se (Didi)(1948) Singer-Amirbai Karnataki, Lyrics-Indeewar, MD-Mukund Masurekar

Lyrics

mere dil ki duniya se
tum door hote ja rahe ae ae
mere dil ki duniya se
tum door hote ja rahe ae ae
aaj tak wahi hoon main
badle nazar tum aa rahe ae ae
aaj tak wahi hoon main
badle nazar tum aa rahe ae ae

aankhon mein paani hai phir bhi
jalta jaata hai jigar
aag sulga ke seene mein
kyun mujhe tadpa rahe ae ae
mere dil ki duniya se
tum door hote ja rahe ae ae

tum jo roothhe
meri kismat mujhse
roothhi ja rahi
chaandni raaton pe meri
kaale baadal chha rahe ae ae
mere dil ki duniya se
tum door hote ja rahe ae ae

dil diya thha maine dil ko
dekh daulat ko nahin
??
??
bhool maine kaun si ki
kyun mujhe bharma rahe
kyun mujhe bharma rahe

DIDI, a social film of 1948 was Produced by Navbharat Films, Bombay and Directed by Mukund Masurekar. The unique thing that struck me was that Mukund Masurekar was not only the Director but also gave music for the film. Arunbhai in the comments of a solo song from the film by Geeta Roy on this Blog, gave this information about Mukund Masurekar:

Shyamlal Babu Rai, who wrote endearing gems in the golden era of melody, such as “Bade Armaanon Se Rakha Hai Balam Teri Kasam”, and also popular hits for the new generation in the 1970s, such as “Aap Jaisa Koi Meri Zindagi Mein Aaye, To Baat Ban Jaaye”, had started his career back in the 1946 with two completely obscure and now unknown films – ‘Double Face’ and ‘Jungle Ki Pukaar’.  Information about these films is not easily traceable, and neither have the songs of these films have surfaced so far.

Remembering Indeewar, song writer par excellence, on the anniversary of his passing away today (27th Feb).

These are songs that may not have come to the notice of many music lovers because these songs, along with the movie, were forgotten with time. Yesterday this blog reached 5000 songs. Today is 14th november, which is celebrated as the children’s day in India. The day is over and it is night time, and not a single song has been discussed on this occasion !

No, I have neither run out of steam nor I have forgotten about this day. In fact I ensured that the 5000 th song was discussed one day advance so as to keep 14th november free for children’s songs. It is just that I was neglecting several important tasks which I completed in the day time. Now I have time to discuss songs for today. It may be too late for the real children, but those who are young at heart (which includes lots of readers of this blog), the day is not yet over. So I will try and discuss a few songs on the occasion as long as it is still 14th november in India. so I still have more than four hours at my disposal. 🙂
