“Phoolon Ke Haar”(1951) was directed by G P Pawar for Shreekant Studio, Bombay. This “social” movie had Nigar Sultana, Geeta Bali, Nasir Khan, Heeralal, Mangla, Sundar, Yashodhara Katju, Kamal, Bhupen Kapoor, Rani Shakuntala, Natyal, Rammurty, Madhav Kale etc in it.
The movie had eleven songs in it that were penned by five lyricists. One song from the movie has been covered in the past.
Here is the second song from “Phoolon Ke Haar”(1951) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Mubarak Begam. Kaif Irfani is the lyricist. Music is composed by Hansraj Bahl.
Only the audio of this song is available. Mubarak Begam had sung as many as eight songs in this movie which mkeans that she had given playback for the leading lady. I have no idea who was the leading lady of the movie- was it Munawwar Sultana or Geeta Bali ? I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
Song-O Zaalim bedardi baalam (Phoolon Ke Haar)(1951) Singer-Mubarak Begam, Lyrics-Kaif Irfani, MD-Hansraj Bahl
Lyrics
o o o
o zaalim bedardi baalam
dil mein dard tumhaare hain
tum jo hamse bichhad gaye
ham dhoondh dhoondh kar haare hain
dard-e-dil ke maare hain
dard-e-dil ke maare hain
o o o
jiska naam zamaana hai
kaam uska thhukraana hai
jiska naam zamaana hai
kaam uska thhukraana hai
ye badnaam jawaani hai
aur ye mera afsaana hai
hanste hain meri haalat par
jitne chaand sitaare hain
tum jo hamse bichhad gaye
ham dhoondh dhoondh kar haare hain
dard-e-dil ke maare hain
dard-e-dil ke maare hain
o o o
ashq bhari hain aankhen meri
dard bhara seena hai mera
ashq bhari hain aankhen meri
dard bhara seena hai mera
yoon to main jeeti hoon lekin
ye bhi koi jeena hai mera
khushiyon se anjaan zamaane
gham ke saath gujaare hain
tum jo hamse bichhad gaye
ham dhoondh dhoondh kar haare hain
dard-e-dil ke mare hain
dard-e-dil ke mare hain
o o o
