“Lagan”(1971) was directed by Ramanna for R R K Combines, Madras. The movie had Nutan, Ajay Sahni (viz Parikshat Sahni), Prem Chopra, FaridaJalal, Jagdeep, Bindu, Sulochana, Shabnam, Jayshree T, Nazeer Hussain, Birbal, Dube, Kailash Chopra etc in it.
This “social” movie had six songs in it that have been forgotten with time alongwith its songs. at least I do not recall having heard the songs during its time.
Here is the first song to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Lata. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
The picturisation shows Jagdeep trying hard to put his baby to sleep but to no avail. Then he hears a soothing female voice and he thinks that the voice is comping out of radio. Then he realises that this voice is comping from another apartment block and it is Nutan singing a lullaby to her baby to put her to sleep.
So this song is a lullaby song which I heard for the first time only just now.
With this song, “Lagan”(1971) makes its debut in the blog and the movie becomes the debutant movie of the day for the blog.
