“Kaun Kaise”(1983) was produced by Raj Valia and directed by Anil Ganguly for R V Productions, Bombay. The movie, which was a suspense movie, had Mithun Chakraborthy, Ranjeeta Kaur, Deepak Parashar, Anita Raj, Deven Verma, Ardhendu Bose, Prem Krishan, Narendranath, Bharat Kapoor, Beena, Ritika Singh, Asha Sharma, Dinesh Hingoo, Shubha Khote, Janki Das, Rajrani Sethi, Jagdish Raj, Neelu Arora, Zunuvia, Taneja, Ashok Gupta, A.A.Deepak, Indrajit Mukarji, Ratnakar, Prema, Dinesh.P., Kumari, Diwakar, Raju, Mohamed, Mehboob, Arpana Chowdhry, Gita Siddharth etc in it.

“Kaun Kaise”(1983) had five songs in it.

Here is the first song from “Kaun Kaise”(1983) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Kishore Kumar. Gulshan Bawra is the lyricist. Music is composed by R D Burman.

The song is picturised as a disco dance song on Mithun Chakraborty who is seen mobbed by girls. Mithun Chakraborty was known for figuring in disco dance songs those days in every movie, even in movies where his roles called for more restrained behaviour, as in this movie. Here he plays a police inspector who is out to solve a murder mystery. But then Hindi movie heroes and heroines cannot help but break into a song and dance routine even if they are shown deaf and dumb -for instance Jayaprada in “Sargam”(1978). So Mithun da, a police inspector singing and dancing in a rather un police official like manner should not, and did not raise any eyebrows. 🙂

This movie had come about at a time when I had stopped following Hindi movies and I was neither aware of this movie nor its songs. The song itself is quite hummable. This song is not counted among the best known songs of those days, so it means that this song and the movie may not have done all that well.

With this song, “Kaun Kaise”(1983) makes its debut in the blog.

hoo

Main akela aur dilbar hain kayi
jis taraf dekho kayaamat hai nayi
ek se badhke dooji hasina hai yaha
kya karoon ye to musibat ho gayi
are mai akela or dilbar hai kayi
jis taraf dekho kayamat hai nayi
ek se badhke dooji hasina hai yaha
kya karoon ye to musibat ho gayi

koi kahti hai main hoon sabse haseen
koi kahti hai koi mujhsa nahin
kuku
koi kahti hai main hoon sabse haseen
koi kahti hai koi mujhsa nahin
ae dile betab ab tu hi bata
kaun si kaafir ka main kar lu yaki
are mai akela or dilbar hain kayi
jis taraf dekho kayamat hai nayi
ek se badhke dooji hasina hai yaha
kya karoon ye to musibat ho gayi

haay haay
dekh ye chehra bahut maasoom hai
dil mein hai kya kise maaloom hai
dekh ye chehra bahut maasoom hai
dil mein hai kya kise malum hai
muskurake kab kahaan ye loot le
inka hi charcha hai or dhoom hai
are mai akela or dilbar hain kayi
jis taraf dekho kayaamat hai nayi
ek se badhke dooji hasina hai yaha
kya karu ye to musibat ho gayi
are mai akela or dilbar hai kayi
jis taraf dekho kayaamat hai nayi
ek se badhke dooji hasina hai yaha
kya karu ye to musibat ho gayi ee ee
