It is 05th August, so its Kajol’s 46th birthday today. For this once I thought I will look for a outdoorsy song to post. Actually, this last week is turning out to be too much in a straight row, if this gets written and posted on time, 4 posts in a week for me.
I think, by now or by unlock – 5, wherever it’s on, people are quite fed up of being cooped up in the house. No going out just for the sake of it. Some of us are attending office on rotation and some are doing full time ‘work from home’. But we can’t be complaining, as there is a class of people who cannot work from home under any circumstances, among these a huge section is of those who need to work daily for livelihood and to survive. People working in health sector have had to be on the front-line as well as police personnel have had a tougher 4 -5 months. This crisis is not looking as if going away too soon. It’s the new normal for all intents and purposes. Now people have reconciled to this new normal also.
Initially people had disbelief, thought that this is not happening. Than it happened, people thought this is not going to last, it will go away soon. Now this is 7th month in to the crisis, which is a global tragedy of the proportion present generations have not seen. Only the war veterans might have some similar experience, but they have been centered in conflict areas or war zones. The plague of the last century also affected some places at a time. Now the globe has experienced a war like situation simultaneously. Some countries were able to cope better than others, which is the reality of this unequal world. There are humanitarian crisis’s happening and looming in different countries of the world. All are waiting with bated breath for the bubble to burst, hoping for the best and fearing the worst. Even the detailed messages and videos about the crisis and situation and the immunity, treatment, etc. also have dried up.

Man is a social animal, we were taught in school. So the new normal for some years to come, is physical distancing. No interacting with strangers and those who do not matter to you personally. This could even be the nature’s own way of preserving the civilization, by correcting the behavioral norms. One can hope that this is so, and things will turn out for the better. For Allah (SWT) is the best of planners, and he knows what is best for us. This belief system is a necessary to cope with the changing circumstances and fear of the unknown. Psychological impact of this crisis is still unfathomable. The experts may still be experimenting with the different case scenarios.

The impact on the world economy is just not thinkable. Some micro plans will be on hold, but macro plans will go on as usual, this is my reading of the situation.
This time last year, I was at Hajj – 2019, by the grace of Almighty. This year it wouldn’t have been possible as only few locals were able to perform Hajj this year.
Micro plans on hold means; people like me will not be able to go on a holiday to enjoy the nature’s beauty, peace and quiet. I have had enough of peace and quiet to last for some time at least. The street outside my building is so quite during all hours, it is impossible to believe that it could be any more silent. But come nightfall, it is so silent that it is scary sometimes.
So let us to outdoors to the natural rivers running through mountains, lakeshore and the shikaara.
This song I am presenting on Kajol’s birthday is from the film “Dil Kya Kare” , which stars herself with her husband and Mahima chuadhary. Alka Yagnik sings this solo for Kajol, I think she is imagining. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist and composers are Jatil-Lalit. The composition, lyrics and singing are all very appealing. There are two stanza’s only, but a well written song. But there is something lacking in the recording. May be very few music instruments or the recording is separately for the vocal and music, mixed later.
Anyway, it is a nicely posturized song in the outdoor locations. So good to look at 🙂 .
