Today we add one more movie from the year 1975 which was so far missing on this blog. The title of the movie will give an idea of how times changed in the decade of the seventies, and the kind of movies that were being made. The movie seems to be an obscure movie of its time, and I could not find any video of the movie or its songs on the internet. This movie is ‘Playboy -1975’ alias ‘Rangeelaa Mastaanaa’. It was directed by T. Janakiram for ‘Mahes Movie International, Madras’. It had Roopesh Kumar, Rutu Kamal, Mohan Choti, Fariyal, Hiralal, H. Alam (new discovery), Pandeji, Udaylakshami, Hameed, Sheron, Yushiko, Indira and others.
S.P. Louis, Ahmed Abbas, Basu, Krishnamurthy, Rema Satish, Kalpana Iyer, Amir Ali Daud, and Fun Santu had guest appearances in this movie. There were some actors/actresses of foreign origin in this movie who had guest appearances, and they were Robert S.K. Ho, Ali Akarbara, Azeema, Sali Chang, Suzane, and Jumina Jafar. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 17.06.1975.
‘Play Boy’ (as spelled in Geet Kosh) has five soundtracks composed by Sonik-Omi. The lyrics writer for this movie are Omkar Verma, Asad Bhopali, Mukhtar and Edgardo Binalling Bing. Singers for this movie are Mohd Rafi, Asha Bhonsle, A.V. Ramnan, Uma and Edgardo Binalling Bing.
