Regulars on this blog are aware that I am trying to bring as yet unrepresented Kavi Pradeep songs on the blog. Today I am presenting a song penned by Kavi Pradeep and sung by Mohd Rafi. This song is in fact a very familiar song to me that I have listened to many times, mostly on radio. But, I am surprised that this song is yet to be presented here. Today we are paying our tributes to the divine voice Mohd Rafi who passed away on this day in 1980. I take this opportunity to present this song sung by Mohd Rafi and written by Kavi Pradeep. Music for this song is composed by C. Arjun. This song is from the movie ‘Aankh Kaa Taaraa-1977’.
“Aankh Kaa Taaraa-1977” had Sachin, Bindiya, Om Shivpuri, Bindu, Ajit, Baby Pallavi, Dulari, Manisha, Nirupa Roy, Bharat Bhushan, Gajanan Jagirdar, Gufi, Mukri, Abhi Bhattacharya, Manhar Desai, Tun Tun, Preeti Ganguly, C.S. Dubey, Paintal, Baby Dimple Saigal and others.
Story of this movie was written by Shantilal Soni who was also the producer and director of this movie. Screenplay and dialogues of this movie were written by Pandit Mukhram Sharma. Editing of this film was done by S.T. Koorani. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 01.09.1977. This movie had seven songs written by Kavi Pradeep and music was composed by C. Arjun. Usha Mangeshkar, Mohd Rafi, and Kavi Pradeep had given their voices to the songs in this movie.
Let us now listen to this song sung by Mohd Rafi and lip-synced by actor Sachin on the screen. He is seen performing this song in a studio for ‘AIR’ (All India Radio). Bharat Bhushan and one familiar face (whom I am unable to identity) are present in the recording studio with musicians. On the other side, Nirupa Roy and Bindiya Goswami are seen listening to this song on radio. Nirupa Roy seems to be touched a lot listening to the voice which seems to be familiar to her. Sachin who is performing as the singer on radio seems to have lost his vision in the movie and separated from his near and dear ones due to circumstances.
Let us now listen to this wonderful song in the voice of Mohd Rafi and pay our tributes to him on his forty-fifth Remembrance Anniversary.
