“Abhi Zara Si Der Mein” by Asha Bhosle from “Maha Budmash” 1977. The song is written by Naqsh Lyallpuri and composed by Ravindra Jain.
Maha Badmaash is an action-thriller directed by R. G. Thaker and starring Vinod Khanna, Neetu Singh (in a double role), and Bindu.
Plot Summary
Ratan, portrayed by Vinod Khanna, runs a legitimate casino. Unbeknownst to him, he’s under surveillance by an elusive international gangster named Mogambha, whose identity remains hidden and who appears only through voice or shadow.
Mogambha offers Ratan a partnership, but when Ratan refuses, he is framed for the murder of a man named Mombha, forcing him into the gangster’s fold as a member of the criminal gang alongside Pinky Nathani and Mike.
As part of his new role, Ratan is ordered to assassinate Commissioner Ajit Saxena. Displaying integrity, he refuses.
Mogambha’s men then kidnap Ratan’s secretary, Reddy, and his sister, Mala, using them as leverage. Ratan must choose: commit murder or face the loss of his loved ones—and everything he values.
With elements of action, suspense, crime, and moral conflict, the film reflects the ’70s Bollywood masala genre. The unseen villain archetype, moral dilemmas, and hostage leverage heighten the dramatic tension.
The song is lip synced by Neetu Singh and Vinod Khanna is also seen on screen.
