‘Shree Ram Bharat Milan-1965’, a mythological movie was directed by Manibhai Vyas for R.M. Art Productions, Bombay. It was produced by Ratan and Mohan and presented by Pt Madhur and S.P. Mangal. As mentioned by me in my earlier posts for this movie’s songs, this movie covers the story of Ramayana starting from ‘Seeta Swayamwar’, ‘Kaikeyi’s seeking the throne for her son Bharat, and ‘vanvaas’ to Shree Raam in lieu of the two boons that Raja Dashrath had granted her earlier, ‘Bharat’s not accepting the throne and instead carrying Raam’s ‘paadukaa’ and worshipping it, and finally Raja Raam’s coming back to Ayodhya after fourteen years of ‘vanvaas’.
In the cast of this movie we have Prithviraj Kapoor playing Raja Dashrath, Nirupa Roy as Kaikeyi, Sulochana as Kaushalya, Anita Guha playing Seeta, actor Mahipal as Raam, and actor Rajkumar (from south?) as Bharat. They were supported by the other cast members that included Saraswati, Balakram, Bhuvna, B.M. Vyas, Sunanda, Niranjan Sharma, Padma Rani, Arvind, Vanmala, Joirabhai, Anand Tiwari, C.N. Kapoor, Shekhar Purohit and others. The names of Madhumati, Sheela R., Aruna, and Bela Bose are included in the titles as dancers. (The video of the movie available on internet is not clear).
Story of this movie was written by Pt Narottam Vyas, and screenplay was written by Vishwanath Pande. Pt Madhur and C.K. Mast wrote the dialogues of this movie. Editing of this movie was done by P.S. Wagle.
‘Shree Ram Bharat Milan-1965’ has six songs written by Kavi Pradeep and they were composed by Pandit Shivram. The singers for this movie are Asha Bhonsle, Kamal Barot, Mohd Rafi, and Usha Mangeshkar. So far, three songs from this movie have been covered on this blog.
Today I am presenting the fourth song from this movie which is in the voice of Mohd Rafi. It is a background song. This song takes place in the movie when Prabhu Shree Raam (Mahipal), Seeta (Anita Guha) and Lakshman (I am unable to identify the actor) are leaving their palace and starting their journey for the ‘vanvaas’. All the people present in the palace as well as the general public of Ayodhya, have gathered to request Shree Raam not to go to ‘vanvaas’ and they try to prevent him from proceeding and some people even lie down on their path-way, but later allow them to proceed. We can also see a grief stricken Sulochana (Ranee Kaushalya) watching them from the window of the palace. The people of Ayodhya accompany Shree Raam, Seeta Maiyya and Lakshman till the borders of Ayodhya and the three of them continue their journey further.
