‘Mera Rakshak’ was directed by R. Thyagaraj for Devar Films, Madras. It was produced by Sandow M.M.A. Chinnappa Devar who also wrote the story of this movie. This movie was passed by Censor Board on 26.05.1978. The cast of this movie included Mithun Chakraborty, Rameshwari, Rakesh Pande, Gayatri, Shreeram Lagoo, Abhi Bhattacharya, Raja Duggal, Jaya Malini, Ram Govind, Mukkamala, Yogesh Chhabda, Devar, Jemini Balu, Swaraj, Pande, Bhagya Kumar, Siraj, Mukesh, G. Krishnan, Krishnamurthy, and Udaylaxmi, Laxmipriya and Veerasami and others. Editing for this movie was done by M.G. Balu Rao. Dialogues of this movie were written by Ram Govind.
‘Mera Rakshak-1978’ had total four songs. Asha Bhonsle, Lata Mangeshkar and Yesudas give their voices to the songs of this movie. Music for this movie was composed by Ravindra Jain who also wrote the lyrics for the songs of this movie.
Today 6th January is the birthday of actress Rameshwari. She made her debut in Hindi movies with the movie ‘Dulhan Wohi Jo Piya Man Bhaye’ in 1977. This movie is already known for its hummable songs which were also frequently heard and were popular in those days.
‘Mera Rakshak-1978’ is her second movie after ‘Dulhan Wohi Jo Piya Man Bhaye-1977’. There are only a few of movies that I have watched and that too on TV. The last Rameshwari movie that I watched and liked is ‘Maan-Abhimaan-1980’. I have already covered a few songs from this movie and this movie is now YIPPEED on the blog.
‘Mera Rakshak-1978’ had made its debut on this blog on 06.01.2017 with its first song ‘ho o behtee huyee dhaaraa’ which was presented by me on actress Rameshwari’s birthday that year.
Today once again we are presenting a song from this movie for Rameshwari’s birthday. This song is a nice romantic duet song sung by Yesudas and Lata Mangeshkar. It is picturised on Mithun Chakraborty and Rameshwari at some beautiful outdoor location(s).
