The song being coovered in this post is the final song from the movie ‘Naram Garam-1981’. Lyrics for this song were shared by our dear Prakashchandra jee long back.
‘Naram Garam-1981’ is a well-known movie of its time and it is said to be the sequel of the movie ‘Golmaal-1979’ which was also directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The lead actors of ‘Golmaal-1979’ Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt played major roles in this movie too.
Listening to the title song of this movie ‘Naram Garam’-‘naram naram raat mein garam garam chaand par’, gives the listener some idea about the movie in the following lines;

This movie ‘Naram Garam-1981’ has comical twists and turns similar to ‘Golmaal-1979’ where the hero Amol Palekar gets into trouble and then manages to extricate himself from those situations only to find himself into trouble again. In the end, it all ends well for him.
As mentioned above this movie was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee for ‘Film Group, Bombay’. Subhash Gupta & Uday Narayan Singh were the producers of this movie. The cast included Amol Palekar, Swaroop Sampat, Utpal Dutt, A.K. Hangal, Kiran Wairale, Padma Chavan, Suresh Chatwal, Anand, T.P. Jain, Sunder, Javed Khan, Bishen Khanna, Vijay Ghosh, Saral Mukherjee, Adarsh Tandon, Mukund Dada, and Chandramohan Khanna, Devi Chand, Shatrughan Sinha and others. Om Prakash, Dina Pathak, Meena Roy, and Neelu Phule had made special appearances in this movie. Story of this movie ‘Naram Garam-1981’ was written by Manoje Basu, and script was written by Shanu Bannerjee & D.N. Mukherjee. Its dialogues were written by Dr Rahi Masoom Raza. Editing of this movie was done by Khan Zaman Khan.
‘Naram Garam-1981’ has six songs. All the songs were written by Gulzar. This was the last movie where Gulzar and Hrishikesh Mukherjee worked together.
R.D. Burman was the music director. The singers in this movie were Asha Bhonsle, Suresh Wadkar, Pancham, Sapan Chakravarty, Sushma Shreshtha and Shatrughan Sinha.

The song under discussion takes place before the climax of this movie. It is Picturised on Anand aka Uday Narayan Singh (one of the producer of this movie), Swaroop Sampat, Kiran Vairale, Dina Pathak, Utpal Dutt, Amol Palekar, Padma Chauhan and many others. However video of this song only has the first stanza. I have no recollections whether longer version of the song was available in the movie in the past, or this cutrailed version of the song was there in the movie right from the time it was first released. Thankfully, full audio of this song is available for our listening pleasure.
