“Samrat Ashok”(1947) was directed by K B Lal for Bombay Cinetone Limited, Bombay. This “historical” movie had Sapru, Veena, Shakir, Himalaywala, Shamim, Husn Bano, Ulhas, Ganpat Rao, Shahida, Sudha Bai, Maruti Rao Pahalwan etc in it.
“Samrat Ashok”(1947) had six songs in it. Three songs have been covered in the blog in the past. All the three songs were covered in the year 2017.
After the passage of nine years, here is the fourth song from “Samrat Ashok”(1947) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Amirbai Karnataki. Shams Lucknowi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Gyan Dutt.

This movie had songs sung by four female singers (Amirbai Karnataki, Rajkumari, Binapani Mukherjee and Husn Bano) so it is difficult to tell which singer sang for which actress in the movie. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.
