A very special song for Mohammad Rafi fans. This is what is real effortless singing. He makes it sound as if it is his ‘baayen haathh ka khel’. And it was his forte to seamlessly go from one mood to another, go from light, comic mode to qawwali, sounding quite serious and melodious and switch to western style, all in the space of less than a minute. If what I say does not make sense, than one can only listen to this song and confirm. What range and what smoothness of voice and diction. And adding the punjabi tadka too in a spoken line towards the end of the song.

Today (2 september 2013) is the birth anniversary of Sadhana, the heart throb of movie goers in 1960s, whose “Sadhana cut” hairstyle was a big craze those days. She had a dream run in 1960s and then she suffered an ailment that forced her to take a break from movies. By the time she came back, the movie world had moved on and had passed her by.
