In 1963, when Sunil Dutt lip-synced the songs in the film ‘Gumrah’, that was the time when the name of a till-then-relatively-unknown singer became a household name. And yes, it also earned him the first of his three Filmfare awards for the best male singer. The song – “Chalo Ek Baar Phir Se Ajnabi Ban Jaayen Hum Dono”. The singer – Mahendra Kapoor.
Remembering Mahendra ji on the anniversary of his passing away today – 27th September.

“Husn Ka Ghulam” (1966) was a Rainbow Pictures Production. It was directed by Kedar Kapoor. The movie had Dara Singh, Nishi,Jamal, Maruti,Madhumati,Niranjan Sharma,Khurshid,Krishna Kumari, Bill Robinson etc in it.
